We went in for dessert after a very long, active day - and no sooner had we sat down than all the kids announced they were hungry. All the food was out fast, hot, and tasted fantastic. The restaurant was clean. The servers wore "Made in Detroit" shirts, which we really liked. All kids' meals come with a miniature bomb pop. Fantastic value for the money. While the children ate popsicles, my husband had a strawberry shake. He said it tasted homemade and was just right. I had apple pie a la mode and coffee. Phenomena... read more
Big Boys is a Classic Americana Diner who this year is celebrating 75 years! A pretty big miles stone these days. Big Boys is a Detroit staple. My Slim Jim was money, my natural cut french fries were super crispy which made it easy to slop up all that Heinz ketchup. The cream of broccoli is one of the best cups a soup you can get, broccoli florets and stems with tiny pieces of ham complemented by oyster crackers. The battered fish & chicken strips keep the kids satisfied until they get there free red, white & blue popsicl... read more
We came here for the seafood buffet one Friday during Lent. It was a random craving and we just wanted to go somewhere casual and cheap where we could gorge on lots of fried things and coleslaw. That we did, and happily. The food was what you'd expect, but I was quite surprised by the level of service at this Big Boy. Our waitress, though we ordered the buffet, kept refilling our drinks and making sure everything was okay. The host was a super nice guy and when he rang us up before we left was genuinely interested in making... read more
One of the newest and cleanest Big Boys in Michigan. This Madison Heights location is ALWAYS busy, but rarely have a wait. I've been eating at Big Boy for nearly 30 years... This location has pretty solid food. Tasty breakfasts and pretty decent dinners. One thing I steer clear of is the chicken.. for some reason, I've had 2 or 3 different occasions at this Big Boy where my chicken was under-cooked! That will keep me away from ordering chicken from here on out but I still enjoy most other things on the menu.
This may be the cleanest, friendliest, and most magical Big Boy of them all! I have eaten here a few times and never have I had a problem or regret with a decision. The servers I have encountered take pride in their jobs, despite it being a staple entry level position for many in the world of food service. Once they even made me a triple-decker grilled cheese per request--for some reason it's no longer on the menu. I think their cabbage soup is delicious. Sure, the salad bar may only stock a spring mix/iceberg blend but all... read more
Sometimes I like the finer things in life. Other times I just want something normal and down to earth. For me, that's Big Boy. I grew up in a small town with few restaurants, but Big Boy was one of them. Going to Big Boy is like going home for a home cooked meal (especially when your mother doesn't cook much.) According to a server once, this is the busiest Big Boy in Michigan and it's easy to see why. The restaurant is decorated in a '50s diner motif. It's large, clean and bright. The menu is the standard menu of ... read more
I myself have always had an excellent experience at this restaurant. But unfortunately, this review isn't for the restaurant per say, but for the rating on behalf of the restaurant about the customers. I believe that the restaurant should have a say in the clientele that it never has the voice to who it serves. Take for instance, the customer that has left a two star review about the service and wait staff. The said customer above is Mary K. I was there when her party of 6 was seated in a divided booth. As she was truthfull ... read more

Wish I read the reviews before I went to this restaurant. My family decided to get a bite to eat before my husband went into work. He had about an hour and a half until he needed to be there, so we had plenty of time. When we came in there was only 1 other customer. When it was time to order, I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. After about 5 minutes the waitress came and apologized and said we are out of it. Another server, possibly the manager, proceeds to tell me how she took all the steak home the night before a... read more
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this establishment to the pet store let alone a human! The servers are the very rude and disrespectful af! Then the kitchen reeks of a undiscribable order. There was a new male manager he was extremely friendly to my entire family. Outside of that my overall experience was
