Our family and I came in on December 17th for a dinner before going to the light show at the fairgrounds. We normally haven't had an issue before tonight. We were seated and waited 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged by an older woman with black hair who I assume was our waitress seated, gave drinks to others who arrived after us, bused two tables and then told us when she would be with us shortly. Sunday, they're slammed & understaffed (normal here), ten minutes to get any recognition at the bar, back of house blasting heavily trumpeted Mexican music. Get cup of coffee (last one offered or poured entire stay). Looking at large order screen, it says they're hitting on-time orders at 36% clip. Deliveries are piled up as are orders ready under heat lamp. Order comes, not hot, ask for Tabasco, brings bottle with about an eighth inch left at bottom. Nothing hot, half a stick of butter globbed between toast right in the mid... read more

oh my god dude the food is great as well as the atmosphere but it took an hour before the waitress said are food was starting to be prepared drom the point we sat down 0 stars holy crap

For breakfast this Black Bear Diner on State/Glenwood is hit and miss. We went on New Year's morning and waited forever for our meal. It was only fair when we got the food. They complained the whole time about how short on help they were. I decided to give them a chance (alone) last night. Waited for a booth. Were sat at a small asked to move to a 4 person because we had someone joining us. The hostess said I am sitting 4 people here, I said we have a 3rd joining us. She unhappily said "fine go ahead". Took 25 minutes to get coffee and an hour and 30 minutes to get our food. Several diners that were seated after us ate and left before we got our food.
