Just ate here for the first time and the food was really good! The French fries were outstanding. The best part of the experience however, was Shaundarius, our server. He was so helpful, knowledgeable and attentive! We will definitely return!

Black Bear Diner has been on my list to try for a very long time!!! My in laws, hubby, and I came here after a long day of hanging out at the pool. We were starving to say the least. I suggested Black Bear Diner... everyone agreed. We walked in, the hostess was very nice and attentive, our waitress was funny and kind! The food was delicious , and Oh my- I am a sucker for cornbread... their cornbread was the best I've ever tried. From a food junkie to another- stop by! You won't regret it.

Excellent service this morning from the staff at Black Bear Diner in Cypress! Food was hot, fresh and came out very quick! Marvin was our server and he was awesome, very attentive and nice! Thank you!

Looking for a way to pass the time rather than continuing to wait for my car at a repair center, I decided to checkout the Black Bear Diner on 290 near 1960. The diner was a great place! A rustic atmosphere with the theme being of course, black bears! They have quite an extensive breakfast, lunch, & dinner menu. Breakfast sounded good, so I ordered up. Black bear diner is definitely an upscale of what Denny's used to be. Their portions are huge and quality of food is great. However, I still give black bear diner best breakfast for a Chain restaurant award. I ordered their Denver omelet with potatoes. I ate sometime during the early afternoon and was the only thing that I can eat all day. It was so filling and tasty.. hard to stop once you've started. Be prepared to be in food coma for a while after eating at black bear' s.. it never fails.

This is a hard one to write. Previously I would have given them 5 stars, but the last three times I've gone it left a bad taste in my mouth. And not just mine, but my dining companions as well. The service was extremely slow and the food was consistently cold! And the general ambiance of the whole restaurant was annoyance. Black Bear use to be my favorite close place to go for chicken fried steak, but their service AND kitchen have gone downhill so bad they've had their three strikes so I'm out and won't return.

If you want to hear people arguing and leaving you to deal with your hunger and thirst, then you'll be in good company here. I've usually frequented the Sugar Land BBD. I didnt think there would be a big difference in experience. FAFO-I was wrong! First off, it was not very busy, but the waitress we had was very slowful in returning back to the table.
