I've always enjoyed coming to this restaurant with my family, and it's been one of our regular spots for a while. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was extremely disappointing. The customer service was terrible, which completely changed our experience. Our food came out cold, and when we tried to address things or place additional orders, it was frustrating. Nadia the waitress was rude and unprofessional. There was a misunderstanding with our order. My husband correct her with our order and her response with an attitude was "that's not what you said, but I'll just change it." We spoke with the manager and asked to change our waitress. We're paying customers not asking for a free meal.

This place has cooks who don't know how to cook steaks. About a month ago, I ordered a medium rare steak, and twice they brought it to me Well Done, Today I returned to give them a second chance and ordered the steak and eggs special. They told us at 9:00 AM that the special was already sold out. This is the kind of place that attracts customers with specials and then doesn't deliver. This is called bad advertising, bad management, bad employees, and terrible service. I will never return to this place.

The minute I stepped in, I was hit with an awful odor, I immediately noticed this restaurant has carpet which I figure that's where the odor was coming from. But as I was seated, I noticed the counters, light fixtures filled with dust. The newspaper menu is a cute idea however filled with germs, maybe they should consider laminated them for cleaning purposes. Touching newspaper like menus then touching your food is not sanitary. This was by far our most disappointing visit to black bear. We usually enjoy coming for a family meal, but this visit had a lot of issues. We ordered the bears choice breakfast, and the prime rib dinner. For the bear's choice breakfast. I chose to get the biscuits and gravy and it was not very good for one thing. The biscuits seemed to be over baked and they were really hard, and there was not much gravy that came with the meal. I took my family to Black Bear Diner on New Year's Day, which--according to my calculations--was already a risky operation due to people. The place was packed. We queued. We waited. Time passed in a very linear and somewhat unforgiving manner. Eventually, we were seated. Only then were we informed that they were out of chicken tenders. And hot chocolate. I ordered the Grizz with a side of mac & cheese when I received the mac & cheese it tasted so cold, like ice cream. The noodles were hard and the cheese was coagulated. I asked the waiter to please give me a different one which they did and the temperature was better but the taste was not I ended up throwing this away. I also had the country potatoes. These were disastrous on my taste buds. I asked for a different side, which was hash brown and it also was not great. The food is subpar, but at least my waiter was very kind.

If I could give 0 stars I would Normally I have their food it is good quality.Came for brunch. My sister had breakfast the bacon and eggs was brunt and I ordered homemade chili's. First they didn't bring out the cornbread. It took my waitress 10 minutes to tell me they don't have any cornbread. No apologies. She never came back to ask if we needed anything nor if we needed refills. They are under staff. I will never go back here. I will drive all the way to La Habra before I come back here. Terrible customer service

Went to black bear diner and was served by Nadia V, and I did not like my experience with her. She had a total attitude, and it ruined the meal for me! Staff should learn to be friendlier, as every time I go to this location, I end up disappointed. Most of the servers I have met here are also like this, with an attitude, and that needs to improve for the better. 0/10 would not recommend!
