Much like many of us, eating out has not been the same since the start of the global pandemic. However, Black Bear Diner provided a little glimpse of hope with my take out order yesterday. I called in around 10:30 am to place my to-go order of Bear's Choice for a pick up at noon. I like the fact that they serve breakfast all day because sometimes I just want breakfast for dinner. I ordered the Bear's Choice, which included scrambled eggs, 2x biscuits and gravy, and 2x thick-cut bacon for $11. Ordering online was easy and I got to schedule my pick-up, which the order was ready and waiting for me upon arrival; each item packaged neatly in a box. The scrambled eggs were just okay since it lacked a bit of seasoning, which I added some salt. The portion amount was good. The biscuits and gravy was a la... read more

I came here with my daughters on a Monday morning. The staff was nice, the restaurant was clean and the ambiance was good. The food was good and has always been. Social distancing was enforced along with the staff wearing masks.

As always BBD is a great place for breakfast. Portions was huge the wife had to box her leftovers. However, it took longer than normal for our food and when it came the hashbrowns was not fully cooked. It was busy and I take that into account. Our service was polite and professional. It would have been nice for our waiter to check in and let us know a status. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but I over heard two large call in orders after we made our order (door dash or grub hub). Those was processed before ours... read more

Update to last review. I will never go back to any Black Bear. For years I went to the Gresham Black Bear, Food was good. I could not get over the Rest Room, WORSE ONE I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. And everything was greasy, everywhere. So, I started going to Black Bear on 82nd Ave in Portland. I really liked it, clean, good service, good food. Now 9 months later and tons of visits they screwed me at 82nd.
