Waited ten minutes to be acknowledged. 10 min to order. Would be ok if the food was good. Flavorless $14 over cooked hamburger with a huge bun and barely any grilled onions that came with the burger. The waitress was nice at least. Probably understaffed but a burger is hard to screw up.

We were loyal customers since this place opened. We would come for the large portions of mediocre food and it is very close to home. Well, i am sad to report that the incredible shrinking portions has broken our spirits. The adult sized pancakes are now smaller than the kids sized were six months ago. Crazy! my 9 year old is now able to the whole plate and still hungry. I ordered "the grizz" today and could not believe how little hash browns were on the plate. goodbye and good riddance black bear. you officially SUCK!

Horrible service for dinner and breakfast, dinner, and breakfast were both lukewarm. We went for dinner, one day, and a week later went to breakfast we couldn't believe that it was still lukewarm to cold food. Waiter didn't even come to our table one time to see how we were doing.

the service was horrible! the food was horrible, I threw half my plate away. the "manager" Lupita or Betty, was very rude. i asked if they take Apple Pay and she was not polite at all! she had an attitude because I had ordered my burger with onions and it came without so I asked her to take it back and fix it. she just wanted to bring me a plate of raw onion and have me add it myself. What happened Black Bear? 2022 Christmas Day full-course Turkey and Ham dinners to go both truly disappointing. Pumpkin pie attached photo with melted drippy, gloppy whipped cream topping pretty much sums up what I received and felt overall. Visually unappetizing. Ham slices received also was not 8 oz. as promised, nor fresh. Tough tasting, discolored and jerky-like thin narrow ham slices. As if cooked a day in advance. Turkey dinner slices not 8 oz. either. The food was not very good. The "creamy" grits were hard and cold. You can see in the picture that when you scoop it, it's not creamy; it turns into pieces. The omelette was just an egg with ingredients near it. The cheese wasn't melted into the toppings or eggs, and the spinach was just a lump of like five leaves on top of the egg. I would not recommend anyone to eat here, and I would not come back. Also, there is a large potted plant blocking an area between the entrance and the wheelchair accessible parking.

I was not able to have Turkey on Thanksgiving and was happy to hear I could go to the Black Bear Dinner in San Rafael. I was informed they served Turkey dinner Thursday and the day after Thanksgiving. Disgusting!!!!, and worst than institutional food. I even got sick from the little I had. Since this location opened I have been there three times eating. The first time the food was bad and the service worst. I excused it to the fact that they just had opened. Used to be reliably good.... Food was passable but Scrambled soft came out medium and biscuits and gravy was dry and not very flavorful.... Service was below average....sat at counter and had servers just keep walking by until I finally f on Aff's done down for Coffee order.....no follow up never offered coffee again. Slow to get check and no interaction from server. Sadly Will not go back.

Before the pandemic it was just great. Since they have reopened it has been horrible for me. The cook always burns the bacon, given 3 opportunities each time failure. So I said let's switch it up ordered omelette with ham guess what no ham. Avocado is old and black. The ketchup is cocktail sauce and the container the sauce is in is not full looks like it is recycled from another meal. I have had it you don't have to worry I will not return and everyone I know will hear about my experiences.
