Breakfast was what I needed. What I received was below average. Over-easy eggs were watery & almost tasteless but they did have a nice, runny yolk. Breakfast potatoes were average, and barely warm. I chose a New York steak with my breakfast. Portion size was hefty. I asked for medium rare, but what arrived was medium to medium well. Worst Black Bear franchise, I have been to and I have been too most of their locations around the west. From the very first location in Shasta City the year they opened, too there location in Idaho and many in between. . The staff is useless, when asked if their hot plate turkey was available, the response was "yes". What came to the table was dried out Turkey Roll". Greasy, disgusting and dirt cheap... you get what you pay for! I have attempted to order a "scramble" Th tee times and it has consistently looked like food chewed up by a dog and been spit out. Food is floating in oil. Totally inedible! I do not recommend! New update: I have orders from Door Dash- Eggs Benedict- I got two eggs "Sunny Side Up"- instead of poached.... and the whites were RAW! They refused to do a redelivery, despite being paid a second time! Be careful!

Stopped here while visiting area thinking it would be good. Service is slow. The waiter came by and asked us if we were ready for our check and we didn't even have our food yet. The chicken noodle soup had a layer of grease on the top of it. Do not get the prime rib.... I ordered medium and it was overcooked and tasteless. There was not enough staff working for all the people dining there.

if you want food poured out of a bag and popped in the microwave go here. the portions are huge bc the food is cheap to make and if you order prime rib you will suffer the consequence

We dined here and had an experience we have never had before. Our server, Dakota took our order, turned it in, and then apparently left. We hadn't seen her in a awhile so we asked and found she had left for the night. It appeared there is no management present because some of the staff look like they are just killing time where others are hustling getting the food out and keeping the customers happy. Sadly this was the only place open on a Sunday night at 9

1 out of 3 happy with the meal. I ordered the chicken pot pie - which was a good portion size, but included a funky seasoning that absolutely RUINED it. I could not eat it - and there was no offer to comp or reduce my entree. My son ordered the bacon cheddar burger well done, but it was still pink in the middle. His other problem was the burger came with all sorts of things like tomato, onion, etc., that was not listed on the menu. Again no offer to comp or reduce his meal either. I went to this Black Bear Diner last week with 3 friends. ( I have been here about 6-7 times since opening, expecting improvement) I must say that food is just "OK" nothing special. I was very excited when I heard they where coming to San Rafael. I am a big fan of Black Bear for many years but this one needs improvement. For all my friends in Marin County, If you have not been to the Black Bear in Vacaville,(this would be a great comparison) then you might not know the difference.
