Actually was looking forward to eating there for breakfast. Your menu looks great on your website. But we never got in. 10 in the morning, a couple of people waiting for a table, and when we looked in there were a plenty.. I mean plenty of clean empty Tables. We were told it would be at least a 10 minute wait,because apparently there only two of us there and the only tables available were for more. My wife and I decided to go out for dinner Saturday. We chose the Black Bear Diner in Santa Maria. The restaurant was about half full. There is a good vibe at this place, the music, the staff the food it was great. Having never ate at the diner our server told us the history of Black Bear Diner. Good story, good people (everybody is happy) awesome food.

The service was horrible tonight at the Santa Maria Black Bear. The place was practically empty but it took 45 minutes to get our food and all we ordered was two hamburgers. The waiter admitted he gave me the wrong kind of milkshake on purpose and never gave me the kind I wanted. The one I was stuck with was gross. Even trying to get them to give us napkins or silverware, which were not on the table, took forever. Everything about the experience was terrible!

I arrived at the location approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, 7/23/2018. After being seated I was old my server would be with me shortly. After close to 15 minutes I had still not be waited on; no offer of drinks; no "I'll be with you shortly."......nothing. At that time I left the located with no desire to ever return.

Waited over 5 min to be seated. No one in front of me. Someone else came in and was seated. When I finally was seated we ordered drinks. Then when delivered we ordered food. My daughter got her dinner. I was just getting bread pudding. I never received it. 3-4 people came by (one being the floor manager they night) to how things were and each we're told I don't have it yet. We even had a discussion about how I would like it. It was good the first time Wonderful service I wasn't charged for more juice like the second time I went. The second time it was horrible the waitress Michelle or Michele kept making mistakes and dropping stuff and she was rude I asked if I could get another cup of juice I was going to play for it but she was rude about the fact she had already made the check.

Sloane is an awesome server! The food is always great, and the service every time I’ve been has been great as well! If you go in, for sure ask for Sloane. :)

Santa Maria Black Bear has not been up to the quality of other Black Bears since the opening a year ago. Used to be our favorite place to eat but not anymore. All of a sudden, no eggbeaters for my omelets. I can go to any other restaurant in Santa Maria and get what I can eat. I can go to Black Bears outside of Santa Maria and get what I can eat. Santa Maria is a loser.

Hi, I live 30 min. away from Santa Maria, Ca. I have noticed a decline since they opened. The "winter Hours" are open until 9:00. When we were seated we were told area's were closed off due to one server. As we were leaving, the door was locked and there were two families at the door trying to get in..it was 8:30 . The person in charge said they were slow so closing early. I would be very mad if I went there from Lompoc and the place was closed early.
