The wife and I went there mid day for a meal. I had breakfast and she had lunch. Loved the decor and service staff. Quite friendly and attentive. Food was very good and a wide selection of choices. Finally made it to this new location. I have only eaten in one other Black Bear diner. I was not aware they had so so many locations around the valley and the country. It is what you'd expect from a new style diner. They have all the classics and daily specials. I had the fried chicken which was good but I will say one of the smallest chickens I've ever eaten. Great experience! Heard about their "housemade" chili so we veered off course to see what was for breakfast. The special did not mention an omelette. We asked our super server Reuben if there was one available and he answered, "Why not?" Wow! The creation that arrived at our table was fantastic! Onions, jalapeños, and sour cream amid a chili -topped omelette. Enough to feed three people! The coffee is also flavorful and my cup was never empty.
Ended up at Black Bear Diner on somewhat of a whim after running a few errands. We figured we would give it a shot since it was nearing our daughters dinner time. The lady working the front area was so warm and welcoming while she showed us to our booth. The real highlight was our waitress Mia(hopefully I didn't butcher the spelling), she was so sweet! First and not last one! Costumer service was AWESOME starting with the host and our waitress Shelly was so helpful and kind and got everything just perfect! The food was delicious My complements to the cook and portions are big! Will go back for sure, thank you all for making the visit so pleasant specially on these times.
Ordered takeout tonight via the app and it was easy and extremely convenient. The hot turkey sandwich is awesome and a lot of food!!! The steak was perfectly cooked and the broccoli and carrots were cooked to perfection and easy to eat! The desserts (the 5 layer chocolate cake and the apple pie) were a great way to finish our meals! Fantastic, family friendly midwestern diner The service was spot on and server o'so very sweet someone who generally wanted to work and appreciated her job. The food came out swiftly and piping hot, everything was simply scrumptious. I had the chicken fried steak served with mashed potatoes smothered in a rich sausage white country gravy. You won't leave here hungry that is for sure. The decor is a little theme park-ish, but it is consistent. If you have eaten at one of these restaurants in other cities you will not be disappointed. Stellar service, by the way.
I placed an order on DD and then called the store to order a side. The call was answered polite and curtesy. I was transferred to the person she called a lead. Heather answered, and was so cool. You can tell Heather cares about her job. Happy Employees = Happy Customers. You guys Rock and the food is over the top in this category.
