The biscuits and gravy are huge and truly homemade and the French toast was really good.
Ate at this restaurant chain several years ago, before a couple closed on Bell road. Always enjoyed their sandwiches, beef etc. Portions are generous, and prices are fair. This trip our tri-tip was fatty around the edges, but tasty, and the smoked brisket had just the right amount of smoke flavor but was dry. Both meats seemed reheated. Large salads with the dinners were fresh and crisp, "Italian" green beans were just regular green beans with bacon added, but still tasty, Cornbread was also pretty tasty (but no crust). Management needs to be more involved. Salt and pepper should be offered. Never is. Ice tea refills should be a fresh glass full of ice not topped off with diluted tea. Counter should be open or closed. Not a flatware rolling station and servers on duty shouldn't be sitting at counter on cell phone pretending to be folding flatware. Your menus aren't that expensive you should not be re using. Having said all that food is good and I'll be back hoping for the best
Meatloaf, corn bread, chicken soup mash potatoes green beans are all 5 star. Highly recommend this place. Outstanding
Went to this new location a couple of times already! Staff is friendly and efficient. Our food was very well prepared and delicious. My husband had the Bear's choice w/ pancakes and almost finished it both times! A lot of food but he was enjoying every bite. I really enjoyed my avocado toast and egg whites-which they changed w/o an upcharge from regular eggs. Plus, I let them know about my dairy allergy and they made sure my eggs didn't get a bit of butter on them. so I was a very happy camper.
Great food! Had the fish and chips and will definitely be back! Friendly staff and fun atmosphere.
This new black bear is fairly new in the last couple months. They don't seem to have figured out how to make the menu the way that other black bears have. The breakfast potatoes are always underdone , even despite asking for them to be crispy. The sweet cream pancakes are always good, but the other breakfast items have been just ok. The wait staff is ok, but not very attentive to refills. It's probably because the restaurant has more people than should be there (IMO, due to COVID).
The service was great. My server was so nice and helpful. The food was so delicious. Recommend it fir casual gatherings or eat alone and study like me
I've heard of Black Bear Diner and have passed a couple of their locations over the years, but when my wife's hairstylist told her how much she liked it, we decided we should try the new Scottsdale location once it opened. Now that it's in business, we wandered in on an early Sunday afternoon and were able to get a table right away, though the restaurant was indeed pretty full. The place immediately brought back memories of the kind of restaurants I grew up eating in, and I knew that my dad, if he were still alive, would rea... read more
