The Black Bear Diner is our go to place for a wonderful breakfast, warm/welcoming atmosphere and especially clean. Never having been to a Black Bear Diner, and on the recommendation of friends, hubby and I had breakfast at the Scottsdale location, which is about 3 miles from the Mayo Clinic Phoenix Campus. The breakfast food was great; the bottomless cup of coffee was tasty and hot, not the tasteless, warm water coffee other chains serve. Black Bear in Scottsdale is our favorite go to diner. We have never been disappointed with their food or service. They also serve breakfast around the clock and a favorite dish is their chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes.

Went there for the first time last week was craving fried chicken and they did not disappoint, nice friendly service. Definitely will go back. The only thing I would say is if they can get rid of the carpet. Carpet in restaurants to me is it no.

Chicken fried steak was alot smaller,.. maybe just a sporadic thing, or maybe it's changed for good. Entrees came out at different times,.. Perfectly cooked eggs,.. Overall was a decent visit, and food was great! Everyone is super friendly.

Service is always amazing. They go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. Our server accommodated specific requests for our meal, and it was all prepared perfectly. Thank you for making our trip even more special!

Let me start by saying that I do not send food back because it Always comes back with something extra. Had lunch at Black Bear today and I ordered the double Decker turkey club sandwich. It was all bread, one slice of turkey, one slice of ham, and one piece of bacon. Not worth the $12. My mother and daughter food look more plentiful but I was extremely upset with the lack of meat on a sandwich. I will go back to try something else but I want to warn everybody not to get the turkey club sandwich.

We had been wanting to try Black Bear for some time. We don't generally eat out, much less go to breakfast, so if/when we do, it is a special treat, and Black Bear here did not disappoint! We sat out on the patio. We ordered a couple combos + additional sides to try. We asked for specific cook on a couple of items and every item came out hot & done to perfection! Delicious! Good service! Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but I give them a break because it is usually due to the fact that they are busy and short staffed. Come extra hungry because the portions are big! And, the prices are very reasonable for how much food you get in a single meal. This is a fast growing company. They must have Denny's and IHOP sweating.
