We have eaten there in the past and loved it. Haven't been there for 9 months or so. We went for 3 birthdays. Food was not as good as usually. Food was cold. Service was horrible, we were told we had a new waitress. We had one person bring drinks, one ordered and she would "finish" waiting on us. We NEVER had our drinks refilled. My moms order was incorrect, so they fixed it. (Lucky it was just a turkey sandwich) I usually love the chicken fried steak but it wasn't as good as in the past. This black bear miss treats there employees and management is a joke this is the worst black bear I've ever been to.

We ate here this past Saturday, never having tried a Black Bear Diner before. I can safely say this was the first, and last time. We entered the restaurant and it took a good 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were standing there waiting to be sat. My family and I just finished a meal at the West Jordan store. Probably the worst experience we have ever had in any restaurant. We were promptly seated but it took 30 minutes for the waiter to visit our table. They weren't even that busy as most of the help was folding napkins and filling salt shakers. We normally like black bear diner but after my experience there today I think my feelings have changed. I ordered the chicken fried steak for breakfast and when I got it the country gravy had the most horrible burnt taste and smell, I even had my husband taste it and he agreed that it wasn't even edible. I waited for our waitress who very rarely came by our table and finally had to grab a different one walking by and told him the gravy was so bad and he apologized and took my entire plate. The food portion is great but we had a 15 minute wait which I was fine with. They called the wrong name and then crossed us out I spelled it out for the host. So they fixed that by correcting it and sitting us asap which was nice. But then it took 15 minutes before anyone even said hi to us they all looked at us and walked by till we finally got greeted. We came here last night 1/5/16. It was extremely disappointing. This isn't our first time here and normally the food is pretty good but this time I can't be ok with coming back. The restaurant had hardly anyone there and the time we waited you would have thought it was a full house. We were seated at a table that had a burned out lightbulb and were not offered another seat even though there wasn't anyone here.
