Over the top on food, service and cleanliness!!!! Today was the first time I've visited BBD and was totally impressed. Friendly staff and the meals are amazing good and huge. I loved the Bear and Kim, the Manager, was just a doll with her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Restaurant. We will be back, soon
I make a point of stopping at Black Bear wherever I see one when I'm on road trips. I got here and the restaurant was quiet on a Wednesday night about 9:05 p.m. and I was warmly welcomed and the service was extremely lively. I'm often a little nervous walking into a restaurant that late in the night because a lot of times the staff is visibly tired and eager to go home. I did not get that feeling here at all. I got the feeling that I was in the middle of everybody's shift and things were going great. Made small talk with the... read more
Their breakfasts are amazing, and their service is great! We've been coming to the Wilsonville Black Bear Diner since they opened, and we've seen a tremendous improvement in service and wait time. And the food has been excellent from the beginning. We're in love with the breakfasts, especially the biscuits. If you're worried because you heard something about their service when they first opened, give them another try. Kim, and the whole staff, have been working so hard, and it really shows!
On a road trip we stopped in to avoid fast food and wanted something higher quality than Dennys. Black bear diner has a thorough menu of breakfast classics and is a reliably consistent chain you can count on to be good. Not a trendy place with unique dishes but that's not the general expectation so I am surprised the Yelp rating is so low. The staff was very kind and welcoming and the service was great. Portions are pretty large too so we're happy we made the stop here instead of a drive thru.
Comparing this Black Bear Diner location vs. the one in Newberg, I like this establishment better than the latter. The food was fresher, the service was better, and the lay out seemed cozier. The waitresses ensured that we were satisfied with the food and refilled our water glasses and coffee cups without a long wait. Orders were done correctly and promptly. Great experience overall.
Fast, friendly service. Our server Stephanie was awesome!! Food was yummy! I ordered chicken strips with mashed potatoes & gravy. Hubby ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. A mountain of fries was in his basket. The reason for 5 stars: The camaraderie between co-workers was refreshing to see. We were seated by the kitchens. They were smiling, laughing, & encouraging each other. A large party came in and 1 waitress was feeling overwhelmed & the other gals pitched in to assist. How fantastic!! Will definitely come ... read more
Stopped in for lunch with friends. We were greeted nicely and seated right away. It took about 7 minutes before server stopped by to provide menus and utensils. However, it took another 5+ minutes for water to brought to the table and drink orders taken, another 10 minutes for her to return for the meal orders. It also took about 15 minutes or so for the meals 1(sandwiches) to be delivered. All in all, the food was good, fairly priced and with decent portions. The service kinda sucked.
I was very excited for them to open. We had never been to a Black Bear Diner before this one.I thought the decor was cute and it was very clean. The staff was great and helpful. Our first visit was for breakfast, which we really enjoyed. The portions are huge. We liked it so much we went back for dinner a couple days later. Sadly we found dinner to be very lacking. I would definitely recommend going for breakfast, but I'd pass on dinner. They make some really good pies though. The cinnamon cream apple pie is worth the trip a... read more
Traditional home cooked meals, large portions, we tried the tri tip combo, chicken fried steak, tri tip lite portion (plenty of food) and the gobbler. All were good. Service was great.
