First visit won't be back, ruined the BBD experience for me. My complaint is more about the food, server and on duty manager that day. Went in for the free bearthday breakfast and although the bacon was better than many restaurants I've visited, that was the only good thing. The waffle would be good for those who want it white and fluffy without potentially being doughy inside, sorry, I prefer mine golden and crispy like "old school or whatever. Asked for my eggs separated and sunny side up. Never had them so runny while st... read more
My husband and I were excited to try this place out and have a relaxed Saturday breakfast. Yes it was Saturday at 11:30 and they were slammed. We waited for 25 minutes for our table which is totally understandable and doable. But as soon as we got to our table, service slowly started going downhill. There's lots and lots of things I could say that went wrong, but the thing that was the most frustrating was how the manager and server handled the situation. I asked to speak to the manager, she came over and didn't let me speak... read more
Awful!!! Super slow service! Sat there for a hour and a half and only 3 of us got food out of 5 and it was cold . They brought out one more meal and mess it up, only gave us half of the meal and had to go remake it. Then they 'ran out' of paste and that was for my 3 year old bother who just had to sit there while we ate. By the time they got there shit together they brought out the kids pasta. My salad didn't ever come with my dressing and we never got a refills on our drinks. We gave this place 2 chances and they haven't i... read more
First time eating at this location. Big mistake! Have eaten at many different Black Bear Diner's but never had such poor service. Long wait to get seated. Even longer wait for a waitress to come for our order. Sat gazing at long-empty coffee cups! Food finally arrived after we wondered if we would starve to death. Eggs requested "over hard" were sunny side up and soft. Omelette that should have had avocado, cheese and mushrooms was totally lacking in avocado. The waitress finally brought a side order which consisted of two t... read more
Service bad. Ordered my meat medium came to me well done could not even eat it way over cooked. Cashier was like oblivious to incoming customers. Very disappointing I have eaton at black bear diners before and food was good but this place needs help.
This was the worst place to eat. We gave it two chances and they screwed up. First time we thought it was just because they were new. Slow service, mediocre food. The second time, it's like they completely forgot we were there. 15 minutes before they ever stopped by our table for the first time. Then when somebody finally asked us for our drinks, we said we're ready to order, only to be told that he can't take our order because he isn't our waiter. This was all night and our waitress came to our table maybe twice total. Save... read more
I love the Black Bear. Would have given 1 star but the biscuits and gravy earned it a second. I have been to many locations from Northern California to Portland. I was excited when this location went in near my home. I have been only twice since it opened. The first trip shortly after opening was very odd. Wait staff was unfriendly, inattentive and disorganized. I chalked this up to only being open for a few weeks, new employees would need time to adjust. I went back again just recently ( a few months after my first vis... read more
Sunday Lunch, 12:45pm They were busy, 15 min wait which was OK. Got seated I ordered a tri-tip sandwich and onion rings. Wife order a tuna melt sandwich. Two coffees. Took about 20 min to get the food to the table. The tri-tip was like the sole of a shoe. Over cooked, really well done. It was tough and chewy. The best part were the onion rings. The tuna melt was edible but the bread was dry. potato salad was edible but a little bland. So for 31 bucks, I think not. Never will go back again.
This was a really negative experience. We were seated right away and our orders were taken in an appropriate amount of time, but we had to sit and wait for 45+ minutes without any food (while others who arrived after us were being served before us). We finally said something to the waitress about how we had been waiting for almost an hour, and asked if there was any compensation for the wait. They skirted around our questions, and we're extremely rude to us after we asked. I will not return here and I do not recommend that a... read more
