The server tried so hard. The problem in this restaurant is the management cannot schedule to save their asses. Three servers for a Saturday night is unacceptable. All I can think of is the franchise owner is lining his own pocket at the expense of the employees and the customers.
Wow! When this place opened a little over a year ago it showed so much promise. Tonight confirmed that my family and I will not be returning. My daughter was so excited to get her Chicken Pot Pie. She said as she had taken her first bites that she didn't like it. So her Dad took a bite and spit out the chicken because it was SOUR! Sour chicken is OLD chicken! We normally love finding Black Bear Diners. But we decided to stop at this one and have lunch, after waiting a few minutes to be seated a nice lady was joking with us. And then got sat at a table, spent a good 15 minutes waiting for anyone to pass our table just to get water! No one came by us at all, they were to busy talking by the registers. This was ridiculous. Wow....so we show up, and my husband is standing with our daughter. Another woman shoves ny him and says "there are only two of us, we need to go before you." The hostess sees this, and seats them first. RUDE. Then we are seated. We wait 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Noone comes. The restaurant looks nice, but there are a few things we didn't like. Pros : the food is good The servers are polite and seem to be trying their best. Cons : after we told the host how many in our party. A man who appears to be the manager stated " we have to set the party of two first" . As if we expected special treatment. I really like Black Bear Diner, the food, the ambiance...my husband requested Black Bear for Fathers Day breakfast. We expected a wait, 2 kids, a guy in a wheel chair, & 5 other adults. The bus boy that dumped all the ice cold beverages down my granddaughter's back was not an issue. My husband gave him a substantial tip on the way out the door. Long wait to be seated without any explanation (issue 1). Waited almost 20 minutes after being seated to have our order taken after asking for our server twice and no apology for the wait (ok. Issue #2.). Waited 40 more minutes for food. Several items ordered were forgotten. Some of the food was great. Some was barely warm. Later, our MIA waitress explained they were short staffed today. Information that would have useful over an hour ago. Would have not waited for mediocre food and absentee service!

Very poor service. I will never go back. I got majorly sick after eating there. Love the ones south in mt. Shasta but this one isn't good at all.
Would give zero if that was a choice. Eat here at your own risk! Very disorganized. Greeter and wait staff seem to have no training. At check-in, told it would be 10 minutes. 20+ minutes later find they had crossed off my name without calling it. We were sitting 10 feet from the area - no way we could have missed it.
