Usually go here all the time but may stop after their website glitched and took out over $100 that I now won't be able to use until it is back in my account tomorrow. Not like I need that money or anything... Good food, maybe just call in your order instead of using their website.
My girlfriend talked me into making an hour detour for this restaurant based off her experience at another location. While the experience was a disappointment, I will still try to be a gentleman in explaining it. The Wilsonville location is a moderate %#$& show. The two children managing the waiting area don't know customer service from paying attention in their 8th grade English class. I took my mother and niece here on Valentine's day. The black bear food has always been a favorite in my family. This is the first time visiting this location. Food was great, server wasn't so great, couldn't stay focussed. She kept making comments about being forgetfull. I was ready to leave right away, but my mother wanted to stay for her favorite menu item. I don't think I will visit this location for a while.
Wow, never again! Busy this morning, not good. Over-whelmed hostess and wait staff, utter chaos. I spent well over an hour waiting for food to come out, only to send it back do get it right. The "waitress" we had was given? way too many tables for her to handle -bad management? If you like over-priced, average food and sucky service, this place is for you!
We've eaten there twice and both times the food has caused abdominal problems. Not sure if it's cross contamination or old meat but either way the burgers are deadly. We tried it one more time for breakfast and never made it past the front desk. The hostess looked like she was in a bad mood and gave us nothing but attitude when a family of regulars came in behind us she smiled and helped them immediately. We're done with Black Bear.
The worst ever!! Don't waste your time!! The employees here do not acknowledge customers at all. Totally ignored when we arrived to wait to be seated. It was around 2:00 pm, so not a very busy time. We finally asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves and then without any acknowledgment were seated. Then of course no one waited on us... not even offered water. We waited about 10 minutes and left. The manager should be fired!! No way will this location stay open with this kind of service. Totally outrageous!
Traveler, if you are looking for a place to eat as you drive along I-5, I'd suggest you pass by this restaurant! We had a horrible experience there last night: sitting at a cold table for way too long before anyone even brought us water, then another long wait for a substandard meal. I realize it's the holidays, but must it be so lax? The waitstaff talking about their days off and someone who's just had surgery and won't be back for a while--is this something diners need to hear? Food arrived cold..waitress was lovely offering a free birthday breakfast to my friend. However, once we arrived at the cash register to pay, we were told the birthday breakfast was not free as we didn't have a coupon. The waitress had not mentioned a coupon when she offered the breakfast. The manager was rude about it and did not support the offer made by the waitress. We will not be back.

Waited at least 20 minutes at our table with no acknowledgement at all from any server. We finally had to track someone down. 10 additional minutes later, she comes to our table and says she was stuck up front but she reeked hard of cigarettes.. enough to make me gag a little. She was short and rude. Didn't feel like there was enough staff present to have a fully functioning restaurant. My potato's were burned and so hard, you couldn't even smoosh them with your fingers.
