2 hours for an oil change?!?! All I needed was an oil change and filter change. It took 2 hours. I had an appointment with a specific service tech who wasn’t even there when I checked in. Totally unacceptable.

Business response:

Sharon, This one puzzles me. Andreea wrote up this ticket at 4:15 with an estimated time of 2 hours. The car required oil change, micro filter, valve stem replacement due to leaking tire and then a Virginia safety inspection. Car and paperwork completed at 5:53; an hour and 38 minutes. That is an excellent turnaround time for the work performed. We must have dropped the ball somewhere though and I apologize because you would certainly not post a poor review for no reason. -Mike Walker, General Manager

Not my first choice for repair Took my car in for a fault light, seemed simple, but got an expensive repair recommendation. Bottom line is, it didn't work and well over a week later, I have yet to hear from the service rep or the tech/mechanic I emailed and called. I even left customer review feedback and got a promise that they'd contact me, but nothing. Nice place and convenient scheduling, but not impressed with the part that counts.

Throwing your money away My 2003 BMW 325 had a vacuum link that I was unable to find on my own. Well, BMW of Fairfax found it, but their estimate was $1097 for 5.5 hours of labor ($200/hr), plus another $387 in parts, totaling almost $1500. As it happens, that exact same repair (replace oil separator and and associated hoses) was done to the same vehicle 6 years ago at another (non-dealer) shop in Alexandria for $297 for 3 hours labor ($100/hr) and $120 parts. Allowing for inflation, that's still less than 1/3 the price... read more

Business response:

I apologize for what appears to be a poor explanation of what our estimate entailed. If we are talking about the 2003 model 325i with 221,000 miles; it was for TWO different valves that were leaking vacuum. I am happy to get involved further to help with the expense on this or any of the other issues we found your car to have. - Mike Walker, General Manager

I3 service review Long wait to drop my car, received a phone call to press me to pay on line due to month ending cycle ( not appropriate) and got my car waited for 20 min plus to finally get the car keys. The car was vaccum but still dirty. I expected better Sevice from BMW , I get about the same service when I go to a random local garage! Bmw Fairfax need to rethink their customer service standards

Business response:

David Michel Lallement, we really appreciate your feedback, please give us a call if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

Warranty coverage helps tremendously When I purchased my vehicle the dealer recommended wheel and tire warranty, I knew this was a heavy vehicle and the roads have potholes. So inevitably I would be required to use it. I picked up a screw in my rear tire, that I was just going to have patched until I remembered my warranty, they replaced the complete tire.

Business response:

Hello William Jones, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help!

Service Deparment I would rather not make any comments at this moment because I want to be polite. Bad terrible service in the Fairfax BMW Service Department. They only care about your money !

FAIR WARNING!!! FAIR WARNING!!! DO NOT GO HERE, EVER! Unless your under warranty! If you have UNLIMITED funds, go there. If not, like me, STAY AWAY!!! They do not care, they just want your money. It does not matter if your vehicle is fully serviced somewhere else. If it’s not serviced at Fairfax BMW, it means nothing! They have their own schedules. Stay away from SHEA in Service. He has no morals, NONE! Their service managers are SLIMEY LAWYERS in the world of Service. They make you out as the bad person. Even when they make... read more

Service Quality service, but gave 4/5 because repairs were for an issue (leaking coolant) that was supposedly resolved before.
