Dinner for 2 at B45 was a mistake from the start. Restaurant was quite empty which should have been a warning to us. We were seated on enclosed but cold porch area; when I asked to be moved inside, greeter said this was the best they could do -even though the place was empty. another missed red flag! Three of us went to Bond 45 based on it being the better-reviewed of the steakhouses in National Harbor. We would have had a better experience at Chilli's. The food was just poorly executed. The filets were under-seasoned and over-priced. The allegedly fabulous short rib lasagna was dry despite an overwhelming amount of bechamel. One bright note; the calamari, which was well prepared.
We tried Bond 45 for the first time on New Year's Eve. I made an advance reservation for two at 8:30 p.m. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and the hostess took us to a table immediately. Unfortunately, it was a table for six! this was our 2nd time at bond 45. our 1st experience was on Christmas eve 2 years ago which was a wonderful occasion and the food and service were great. But we were very disappointed this time which made our special Christmas eve dinner much less enjoyable then it should have been. Way overpriced for mediocre food. For $65/steak I expect great - and unfortunately it wasn't. Would not visit again.
Service was awful , waited too long to get the food.
Dined on Friday evening (11/20/2015): My expectations for BOND 45 were high, maybe too high. My reservation was made through Open Table (under my name). We arrive and end up waiting at least 25 minutes. The Host takes us to our seat which is located in one of the tightest and smallest corners I've ever seen. They have made significant changes to their menu, and it is unremarkable at best.
This was out 3rd but final visit to Bond 45. The new menu eliminated the mozzarela bar, they ran out of their signature filet mignon, they cooked our med-rare steak well done, and charged $55 for a tiny filet and measly bit of lobster meat. Finally for good measure they ran out of the choc chip cookies that come with each meal. Throughout this we were bever visited by a manager. We will never return here.
