The service was slow considering the number of waitstaff they had. The food was good, really appreciated the gluten free bread option for the burgers. Many options on the menu to choose from for sure. Prices are a bit high, but it is NYC after all and in the theater district. Would recommend making reservations if you have a crunch on time.
When we go into NYC we love to go to the Brooklyn Diner Times Square. The food is consistently good and the service is efficient , friendly, and top notch. Highly recommend!
Our experience was good overall. We had good service. The food was very good - my nephew especially loved the steak frites. The only exception on the food was the grilled chicken on my Cobb Salad which was so overcooked that much of it was inedible. That was a shame because the rest of the salad was good - very fresh and not overdressed. We tried the strawberry blonde cheesecake and it was excellent.
A Perfect Place Breakfast. We come from Germany and relaxe and enjoy a Start in a Perfect das. Thanks NYC
Through me for a loop. First of all, it's not in Brooklyn. Second, it's not a typical diner (won't find breakfast for dinner). The pollo cubano I ordered is now my fave dish. Can't wait to try it again. Service was attentive but not pushy. Environment was a bit noisy at dinner time (on W 43rd) but we could still have a conversation without shouting. Overall good experience. Clean and friendly.
Pre theater brunch was good. Service not as good. Had to ask twice for side of noodle kugel that I ordered but was not delivered with meal. Juice which came with NY breakfast was also not delivered until asked for, and then it was the wrong juice. My egg white omelette with mushrooms spinach and tomato was good and we liked the side of polenta with dipping sauce. Two eggs over easy were done well and sausage was tasty. We loved having a choice of challah toast.
Portions are huge. SHARE! Food was good - we had the massive hot dog, and it was actually quite good. The matzo ball soup was better than expected, considering the place is not 2nd Ave Deli, and the chicken pot pie was OK (and yes, very large). Didn't have dessert, unfortunately, but they did look very good as they passed by. A decent choice for the theater district, especially for tourists. Not surprisingly, it is overpriced (though not at all crazy for the potion sizes).
Nice diner for a quick pre-theatre meal. Busy and somewhat noisy but the food was good. Their Chicken Pot Pie was very good and can be shared by 2 people if you are light eater. In spite of how busy it was, service was good.
The food and service were good. Serving size was a bit large. The price was high for the food. We could have eaten at a better place for what we got.
