PITA to set up I have not used this device yet, but want to comment on the set up, which took me three frustrating hours on a Windows 7 64 bit desktop. The device comes with a CD, which I was instructed to run. The CD downloads all the drivers, etc. At the end of the installation sequence, you are instructed to go to the web site to check for latest updates. Sure enough, there are new drivers available, but you must download and run a driver un-installer first before downloading the updates. When you download the update, a n... read more
Brother printer need I say more ? Need I say more it's brother and it's great one thing I would say if you really print or copy a lot like few hundred pages a day I would tell you to research for a printer that won't need a drum cause in these printers you always have to change drum and toners so can be costly but you can find on amazon off brands for very cheap
Good printer for paper not envelopes Good printer but when I print envelopes they come out wrinkled. I tried all the trouble shooting and it still wrinkles them.
Don't like it Began telling me that toner was "low" after 50 copies. I'm now at about 200 copies (using the same original toner cartridge). Display is HARD to read (see) without a flashlight. It works, but I don't like it.
No power cord included It looks like a nice printer, but it didn't come with a power cord. It is just sitting on my desk now because I haven't ordered a cord yet. I guess for the price, I expected it to have everything I needed to use it. I will update when I order a power cord.
I’ve had brother all in ones before and been very pleased with them Mine’s a lemon. Would never fax .I’ve had this model before.I know how to use it. 3 months later, when I turn it on, it will say”Please wait’ then shut off completely 9 out of 10 times. I’ve had brother all in ones before and been very pleased with them.I think THIS one is a dud. I regret purchasing it from Amazon. Had I bought from Costco or anyplace that had a more generous return policy. I would not be stuck with a purchase that came to $150 with Tax. Now ... read more
Sleep Mode is vexing Let me preface by saying that I'm a geek. I like technology and am not afraid of it. I'm familiar with networking issues and IP Addresses. I am completely frustrated with this printer. It is stuck in sleep mode. I've pressed buttons, I've tried creating a time before the printer can go into sleep mode. I've also searched the web to try and solve this issue. I'm ready to throw it out the window. But before I do that,I'm going to uninstall the driver and reinstall it. What a waste of time.
Beware - NOT wireless I purchased this as a second printer to use in my home office. I have another Brother Laser MFC which I love, especially due to its wireless scanning and apple AirPrint compatibility. This printer is NOT WIRELESS. Maybe I misread the description or just overlooked this due to the fact that my other Brother MFC, which looks exactly like this one but is black, is fully wireless. You have to connect this printer to your network via ethernet. The description said you could print from your wireless device an... read more
I hate this printer soooo much This printer jams constantly when there's no paper jam. Eats through toner, we're replacing it every month. Once it is low, it'll just stop printing. The programs it comes with need drivers that my computer refuses to work with. I hate this printer soooo much. Today it broke for good (broken gear or something inside making terrible noise). I'm just going to throw it away, I don't even want if fixed.
