works good The sample toner lasted about 3 months with minimal use. On the next toner cartridge. Would never go back to inkject cause all the ink dries up on those. Good price. Would buy again. no streaking. kindof slow on start up even when left on.

Great Printer. Bad scanner Scanner doesn't work when ink is low. I feel let down by Brother corp. I see no connection between scanner and ink.
What a dud! Got one today and will be returning it Monday, May 20 2014. Would not even start after dutifully following the hanged up instructions with no way to go, but circling around.
Great for 6 months. Then not. I had never had a problem with a Brother printer until having this one for 6 months. It was great up until then. Then it started printing very faint. So I replaced the toner cartridge and the drum. Still same problem. I went through all the troubleshooting tips and went through everything with their tech support on the phone. They just said it must be the drum or toner cartridge. Very disappointed.
So far so good, but... I received my Brother 4-in-1 recently. Easy to set up, easy software installation. On that note, I made the mistake of installing the included Paper Port, which I never even launched once. I use a honkin' fast Core i7 notebook, and for days afterward I noticed that my fan was running faster than normal. That meant more heat produced, which meant more cpu usage going on. I ran Task Manager and viewed the situation to discover that, on my quad-core cpu, that a process was using about 13% of my cpu power ... read more
disappointing the paper tray is so lightweight; fragile and fails to yield up a single page to be copied often. i would have returned it within 30 days, except that is costly in time and money - and i bought a repair service for this machine which will be easier to use - if brother and i continue to quarrel. the print quality is ok or even good. enlargements work fine. but the paper travel path is not smooth so far.
Fan runs forever- Very noisy machine The fan runs for more than 7 minutes after printing the last page. Brother states it could run for up to 30 minutes to cool off. The fan is very noisy and very distracting for a small office.
