This place has too many vets and wants to charge for any little thing. Explanation of what can and can't happen is nonexistent. A $36 charge to tell me me cat's bloodwork is normal, just bc it was a different vet than the one who saw him initially? It makes no sense. Plus I was not told complications that could happen from taking one treatment route vs another. There are too many veterinary clinics in the south loop to come back here.

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with BPAH. I boarded my dog, Charlie, here for 4 days and picked him up this morning with part of his paw pad completely ripped off his foot. I noticed him limping slightly as we walked out of BPAH and about half way home he couldn't take another step and just laid on the ground and started licking his paw. That's when I noticed his paw pad was torn off. There is no way this is a new injury and it looks pretty severe. Someone must have (or at least SHOULD have) noticed this and I shou... read more

BURNHAM PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! MY STORY BEGINS MARCH 10TH AND ENDS ON MAY 3RD Our 7 month old puppy fell off the sofa and broke his leg. The ER xrays showed it was a clean break and advised us to go to Burnham Park because there was an orthopedic surgeon within walking distance to our home. We took James to see Dr. Bruederle aka Dr. B. who examined the x-rays and said that yes it was a clean break and that he would be good as new! BURNHAM'S DR. JB BRUEDERLE AKA DR. B AND DR. LINNEA OLSON NEGLIGENT AND INCO... read more

Friendly, yes. However... A visit in January, 2010 left one of my cats mis-diagnosed and cost me a couple of thousand dollars plus in an unnecessary surgery. The cat still died. A recent visit this month left another cat un-diagnosed, I told the doctor about a previous sickness but he paid no heed to what was pretty obvious. This prompted me to visit another vet which resulted on a positive note. I normally do not write reviews but I feel that after the last visit this review is warranted.

I asked BPAH to transfer my records to my new vet several months ago. They did. Even so, they continue to sarcastically spam my inbox: "Dear Andy, Dewie is so smart! We sent a reminder e-mail last month, and he must have gotten into your e-mail and deleted our last reminder to him!" Is it cute? Sure. Is it insulting and a little passive-agressive? Absolutely. I don't understand why they continue to send these things when I have told them I found a new vet.

Business response:

I am very sorry for your negative experiences with our clinic. I do see in your file that you had requested your records be sent to another clinic, and I apologize that we did not mark your file inactive at that time (as is our usual practice) so that you would not continue to receive the email reminders that are generated monthly by our computer system. I assure you that it was not done intentionally or meant to be sarcastic or passive-aggressive. I have now inactivated your file so the reminders will cease. I wish you and... read more

I have been taking my cats here for a few years, at first things were great. The vets seemed nice enough, but recent events have mr rethinking everything they have told me about my cats. I have 3 cats, one is a savannah(hybrid) I took them all in for their annual visit and vaccines. The vet (I won't name) told me my Savannah was over weight, I fiercly disagreed. He is only 14 mos. and is still growing, he managed to convince me otherwise. He told me to take ALL my cats off dry food and only feed the wet. He also gave me a 5... read more

I will never take any pet that i own or own in the future to this racist, arrogant place again. The receptionist "M" was very rude. I was handicapped "walking with a crutch" and the receptionist had an attitude because one of the coworkers let me in early so i could have a place to sit down. I commented "she didn't have to be rude", the Veterinarian took the receptionist side and was staring at me like i was a (black) criminal. They charged me $200 for shots and didn't really examined my dog thoroughly. This sorry excuse fo... read more

Our dog had two surgical procedures done by Dr. B both were very bad surgical technique. The knee surgery has had to be redone by another vet. down state in Urbana, Illinois. There were many follow-up visit and we were not told that the surgery was totally unsuccessful. Dr. B should have been able to palpate this misplacement of the patella and suggested another repair, instead we were told that everything was okay. I would be very cautious about having any surgery done at this practice.

HORRIBLE....DON'T GO HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET...... I took my doggie in because he was lethargic, not eating and vomiting mucus. The vet said he would be ok to give him some medication that cost $60 and tried getting me to buy their vet food that it may help....Really?? well i didn't purchase the food but hoped the medicine would help. The vet never suggested taking an xray or anything else so i go home give my doggie the medicine and there is no improvement. I go back the next day and the vet this time suggest another ... read more
