I have been going to BPAH for approximately 15 years. I have seen the changes it has gone through. I have always been pleased with the care we have received for our numerous cats and dogs and even a rabbit. They are wonderful during the loss of a pet. We have had all kinds of problems with our animals and the vets have been able to figure it out without spending lots of money on specialists. The treatments have always worked. Thank goodness the nasty receptionist is gone, she was awful and the patrons of BPAH endured... read more
After reading the reviews here and careful consideration, we brought our girls in for their shots back in July before our new little kitten could come live with us. We found that the receptionists were very nice and helpful, so it seems the one girl that nobody liked is gone, as I've been 4 times now and everyone was very nice. On to the vets: We saw Dr. Thomas the first time and he was really nice and easy to talk to. We moved recently so it had been hard for a while to get our girls in for their shots, but there was no ju... read more
Initially we didn't care for this place too much. As most others have stated one of the receptionists is a total bitch. The past few times I have been there she has not, maybe she got fired. One can only hope. Otherwise the place is alright. They seem to care about the animals, don't try to scam you, a la used car salesman tactics, and it is generally easy to make an appointment. If you live in the south loop it really makes sense to check it out. For all others you may find similar services locally. I guess they do ... read more
Dr. B has taken care of all our pets, from hedghogs to pound dogs, and has done a great job. He gentle with Calvin, our last hedgehog, even though Calvin wasn't very gentle with him...he bit Dr. B HARD while he was checking an abcessed tooth. Apparently Calvin wasn't quite anesthisized yet. We now bring our dog Roscoe to Burnham Park, and Roscoe loves it there. He's always trying to run into the exam rooms instead of out of them.
I took my Am Staff and Corgi to Burnham after a referral when my vet was out of town for the week. They had contracted Kennel Cough while boarding, despite a vaccine. Positively, we got an appointment less than 24 hours from my call. We waited in the waiting room for about 15 minutes before we were taken into a room by the vet herself, who seemed very concerned about my pets' health. She gave me a lot of information about their sickness, and asked a lot of questions about their history to get a full picture. We were given s... read more
We love Dr. Thomas! He is very patient with us and has been extremely generous. We live in River West and still go there. There is one young woman that works the front desk that is a bitch. ALL of the other staff have been very warm and friendly.
I've always had great experiences here. The staff truly loves animals and the doctors are very informative. The location is great too especially if you live in the Loop or South Loop. I highly recommend.
We go here even though we live in Bucktown. We started right after they first opened, years ago with our first dog when we lived closer. Now we still go, and they always treat our pets very well. We usually see Dr. B or Dr. Thomas, and they seem to be able to fit us in whenever we need to get in on an urgent basis. I'd rate it higher if it were easier to get in/out of the waiting room without running face to face with the other sick pets waiting.
We love Dr. Thomas! Our Schnoodle has been seeing him since the day we brought him home, and he has always been conscientious, informed and encouraging of our doggy parenting skills. We've had a few accidents, a broken toe, and a cut, and everyone at Burnham Park has always been so helpful, no matter how many times we chew off our cast. Once we saw Dr. Thomas out at a party too. So cool!
