HORRIFIC!!! I took my kitten to this hospital and he was diagnosed with Giardia. They gave me a dewormer that didn't work and the doctor prescribed a second dewormer. The receptionist gave me an almost empty bottle with only 10ml of the medication but on the sticker it was written that this is 50mg and this is what I paid for. I am supposed to give this dewormer to my kitten for five days twice daily but there's only two doses in the bottle?! How is that possible?! I don't know who measures and prepares the medication but th... read more

I will be looking for a new vet for my dog. This place is overpriced and unprofessional. The vet rushes every visit without addressing all the concerns you are there for. I was tricked into purchasing their "affordable" month to month plan which come to find out, covers nothing but the visit. I was told my dog has Cushing's disease and that he would need one blood test to confirm (~$160) and then another blood test once it's confirmed (~$270), and then an additional ~$2500 in medications. Why do I need two blood tes... read more

They didn't do anything necessarily wrong. But the prices are too expensive, the receptionists have the " too busy attitude" and the vets are rushed, stuck in their ways, and don't listen. I found another vet in the west loop and have had much better service at better rates.

On Thursday, October 18th, I had an appointment to meet with Dr. Olsen at Burnham Park Animal Hospital as I noticed my ESA animal was losing a lot of weight and fragile body was very thin to be point that you could see her spinal bones. I really wanted to give this hospital another try as they are much closer/convenient. When I came into the hospital, I was greeted and asked to be seated until the Dr. was available. During that time, I was not asked for an updated phone number and of course me being extremely worried about... read more

It is sad that after nearly 10 years as a customer, I have to give Burnham Park one star. When my dog was sick I called to try to get in shortly before they closed. They said they were closing in a half hour and could not see me. I understand them being booked but I would have expected them to try to squeeze me in (I live 1.5 blocks away) or at the very least ask me what was wrong with my dog. They did neither and did not seem to have any concern for my dog's well-being. When I emailed them about the situation and said I wou... read more

That was just a waste of $68. I brought my cat to Dr. Miller because I was looking for new vet. My cat needed new blood work and chest x-rays. Instead of reviewing her past records and actually taking an interest in what is going on the vet told me to take her back to my old vet. He wanted them to try and figure things out. After pontificating about nothing and droning on and on we had to book out of there immediately to go back to my old vet before it closed. This was a colossal waste of time and money. If I pulled this non... read more

I was really disappointed with my visit here. I got an appoint for the evening which was nice at first but the Dr. Just rushed through the appointment. I brought my cat here because she was having breathing issues, the tech took detailed notes and listened, But when the Dr. came in he rushed through my appointment and never really addressed my concerns about her breathing. The most infuriating thing was when he looked at her teeth he seemed to get excited saying "Oh yes she'll need to get a dental cleaning soon.I though... read more

If I could give this place a -100 I would! I gave them a good review a couple months back because their lady vet had done such a good job with my bulldog but I had an emergency today with my cat going into labor and the receptionist was beyond rude her name was Lara! Dr. Miller was the vet in today and he told them to tell me that he doesn't deal with breeding issues and to call somewhere else! What kind of response is that?! This is my normal vet office and you are not even giving me suggestions and saying you don't deal wi... read more

Business response:

I am very sorry that we were unable to address your cat's needs when you called. I spoke with both Dr. Miller and Lara to gain further insight. Lara had initially spoken with another one of our doctors in the morning. The reason for the initial referral elsewhere (Treehouse) was that we do not stock oxytocin or other medications that can aid in medical management of delayed delivery. I acknowledge that we could have done a better job of making this clear to you during your initial phone call. I also spoke with Lara regardin... read more

This may be the best place in Chicago to get your animal treated - I wouldn't know. My dog and I just moved to the area and hadn't yet found a new vet, having only been here 3 weeks. When my dog came down with an anal gland infection, I called to see if Burnham Park could see him over the weekend. They had an open appointment on Sunday and asked for my name and number. When they couldn't find me in the registry (they didn't ask if we were existing clients first, just for my name and number), I said, "of course we're not in t... read more
