I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times. Last night the meal was great. But the waiter split the bill 1/3 2/3. When we brought it to his attention, we told him we wanted him to credit us the original and then charge us 50-50 of the bill which you guys did but we never got a credit for the first 1/3 2/3. The matree d told us he was taking care of it. It has not been taken care of. Will not return to the restaurant until I get my credit. I was there on Thursday night April 3 at 8:40. Good food and service, but what a ZOO. This is not the spot for a romantic night. It is SO LOUD and all the tables are crammed together.
The $39 Jumbo Lump Crab & Avocado Salad arrives pre-made, with soggy consistency and Boston lettuce that shows yellowed edges. You be the judge.
This is one of our fav neighborhood spots. I often come here alone for a delicious, relaxing lunch. Today was offensive & terrible. Seated near me was a woman FACETIMING ALOUD! Incredibly rude! I asked her to stop & she rudely replied “no” & continued. What shocked me is that the Manager & waiters allowed her to continue FaceTiming Phone conversation. Truly disheartening. Waiter rushed us and was very unpleasant. Restrooms extremely small.
Table was ready as reserved but the restaurant, pre-Lincoln Center, was packed. Tables are close together. Ours was in the middle of an aisle and waitstaff and customers passed by regularly. Noise level is quite high so, while the restaurant was doing a high volume of business (good for them), it made for an unpleasant dining experience for us. The restaurant was EXTREMELY hot to the point where our entire group got nauseated from the heat. It was an unbearable experience and they would not accommodate turning down the temperature. Even other tables were miserable.
Has a good vibe but the food isn’t great for what you are paying
We were seated in a narrow alcove right next to the kitchen making it impossible to even walk around the table. The food portions were large but the quality was mediocre at best and expensive for what it was. Service was satisfactory. We will not be returning.
