We've been going to Fiorello for about 25 years or so. Their customers are frequently stuck with few options in the neighborhood - because of the great Lincoln Center location. The food has deteriorated slowly, and the prices have become way too high at a much quicker rate. They are now the same as the much better Ocean Grill, also in the neighborhood. There is no comparison. The antipasto bar used to be terrific. It's bad now. Greasy. Overcooked. Very disappointing. It took a long time, but they've lost us as customers.
Noisy. Bad table. Will probably not go there again
I have been to Fiorello's many times and this was the most disappointing ever. Over crowded, very niosy, made to wait some time even though I had reserved. The food - salads good, fish overcooked, mistake on Veal order, first received Veal Marsala and then finally Veal Milanese which I had ordered. The Milanese was absurdly huge, thin and dry. And - the appetizers were depleted before we bagan at 7:30 pm! Perhaps the restaurant is too popular to keep up the standard?
Cafe Fiorello has been our favorite restaurant for years to go before the matinee performance of Met Opera. Somehow the menu changed this year. I ordered a salad with wild salmon as usual. The size of salmon shrunk to 1 cubic inch or smaller with tiny little thumb size mozzarella cheese. A sliced tomato came with was still green and as hard as a rock. Very disappointed because they served much better one for years. I have to look for another restaurant nearby the Lincoln Center.
should not have gone the last day of a three day holiday as much of the food was good and that which we had was very tired..usually better than this
THE KITCHEN MESSED UP MY ORDER TWICE. THEN THE BILL WAS WRONG. EVERYTHING WORK OUT FINE. I HAVE BEEN THERE MANY TIMES AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED.
We had pre-theater dinner reservations. Place is definitely energetic and does a great pre-theater business. We had high expectations but one look at the menu and we decided to pare down our meal and limit it to two appetizers each. My salad was ok, the crab and cheese bruschetta was disappointing. It was lukewarm at best. The baby arugula salad was OK and the minestrone soup was also just OK. We were glad that we had opted for a smaller meal when we saw the bill.
The wait staff is still excellent the but quality of the food has dropped significantly. Seafood appetizer rubbery and bland. Veal tough and the "special" sole of the evening bland and over-cooked. If this is a new chef...time to change. This was the perfect locale for a Lincoln Center dinner. Won't be back.
