Service outside was poor. The couple two tables away from us were seated ten minutes before us and were not served until we were well into our dinner. The waiter was rarely around and it took a long time to get drinks and his attention. Too bad since it's convenient to Lincoln Center and when the food eventually arrives, it's usually good.
Good food, not so good service. My group of 7 was seated at a very small table that felt way too crowded. We ordered wine by the glass, and delivery to the table was a little slow. The white wine was served a little too warm for my liking. I shared the tasty 2-lb. lobster pizza with with my husband, which came served on a large platter. Unfortunately, we were never given dinner plates and had to eat the pizza right from the tray it was served on. The table was so small, there would not have been room for extra plates anyway.... read more
Head waiter rushed us out to get our table. not very nice.
Been to fiorello more than a dozen times over the years. It has definitely deteriorated in every category and the only thing that keeps me coming back now is that it is right across the street from Lincoln Center.
As a frequent diner at Fiorello in the past, I was disappointed this time. I brought five friends . . . while our welcome was great, service was spotty, the normally grand antipasto was skimpy despite the fact that we ordered TWO of the four-veggie-two-seafood item (the steamed clams/mussels appetizer was also skimpy - we ordered two of those also). Things improved with the main courses, but we were already unhappy.
If this restaurant were not across the street from Lincoln Center, I would never go back. It is so crowded that it's claustrophobic. The noise is unbearable. On the other hand, the food is excellent and they do get you out in time for the curtain. Such is life in Manhattan.
I know they've been there forever, but on our recent visit it felt like they were serving people for the first time.
This place feels like a cross between a nice family run business and a tourist trap. Prices are very high for what you get. Service is spotty - very friendly, yet hurried. Some dishes we had were wonderful - the ribbolita for example which was hearty and delicious - and some were not so good - like the antipasti which tasted old and oily. The pizza did look good, but seemed ridiculously overpriced. It has all these little rooms that feel intimate and local, yet the place on the whole is a sprawling operation opening out into... read more
Tables too close together. Food only marginal: my fish was cold and bland and it was Mediterranean sea bass which is hard to mess up. Best thing was bread. Many other Italian Rest are better. This one appears to thrive because of location near Lincoln Center.
