Felt like rush hour on a crowded subway...even with a reservation. People jammed in the entrance way with waiters trying to get thru to serve people at the bar and no place for customers to stand. Noise level at the highest decibel. The Tables for two were so squeezed together....very difficult getting in or out between tables as there simply was no space. The food.....SALTY! extremely crowded --while the food and service was good, chances are that I will not make a reservation here again without reserving a booth-wait staff compete with guests for limited aisle space and the ability to have a conversation with dinner partner is almost impossible; the overall experience is one of chaos...
We had to wait 45 min although made a reservation. Food was OK but not worth the wait
We stood in line for 25 minutes past our reservation appointment. We were given a table in a crowded spot. The restaurant was hectically busy, noisy, unruly. The cappuccino was served lukewarm.
Unfortunately, since we have dined here many times before, I ordered the shrimp scampi and the shrimp arrived with a tomato type sauce, not scampi at all, with undersized shrimps and overcooked...I returned the dish and ordered the salmon steak medium which came out undercooked. Normally, this restaurant is top notch...not sure what happened...but I didn't have dinner...my companion did and it was a good dish, the sole in clay pot...and the appetizer vegetables were out of sight...just a bad night for shrimp and salmon I gue... read more
out of too many options--a great disappointment to be so limited by a menu i know well. also, temperature was stifling.
Ridiculous place - way too crowded / too loud / poor service / Mediocre food. Tables for 2 are way too close. You cannot get up without others around you moving their tables. Attention to detail is lacking - did not cook food as requested - ordered a seared tuna steak that came out well done. The food was delicious but very pricey. The table was very cramped and the room was noisy. Our waiter was pleasant but rather clueless and never mentioned any specials. We won"t return soon.
CAFE FIORELLA has been my favorite restaurant in the Lincoln Center are; went there 3 out of 4 times when I dined before a conceert. I was very disappointed last week. The prices are ridiculous now and the service was not good. Two of us ordered Vitello Milanese; it was dry and tasteless. The dinner for four, 3 drinks, 4 entres- one a pizza, 3 coffees, was over $60/per person. That is too much for a meal with no firsat course or dessert.
