This was not our first visit to this restaurant. We had been there and enjoyed the food, location and good service. But this day was just plain intolerable. Our waitress was rude, flip, unknowledgable, and distracted. And this at an early hour! We walked out before ordering...having had drinks...and would be reluctant to go back.
Noisy and Noisier! Maybe the noisiest place I've ever been for dinner. We were at a table for 4 and could not hear across the table. And people are sitting almost shoulder to shoulder. Food (expecially appetizers) vg, but the prices are exorbitant even by NY standards. By the time we finished, I couldn't wait to be out of there.
The pleasure is gone and the cost cutting is perceptible. This has been our Lincoln Center standby for years but now there's more appealing competition and we'll skip Cafe Fiorello for a while.... We have a favourite table (as do many other diners here); our request was always honoured with a previous Maitre D; now, they almost never get it right -- even when the manager assures us in advance that it will be held for us. We used to say that we've never had a bad meal here but two favourites dishes were disappointing: the fri... read more
very expensive for what it offers. will not return
Food was too expensive for the quality.
reminds me of catering hall food. Service if "flighty"!
The prices per item have increased so much that we will never return. Who ever heard of charging $28 for a basic pizza. Restaurant had many empty tables. People at tables behind and next to us were also discussing the prices.
Our dining experience was depressing. We used to dine frequently either before or after the theatre at Fiorello, We've watched it slide downhill over the past 3 years, but last night we decided to give it one more late evening try. We figured that at least a salad and their nice thin pizza would be fine, but we were sadly mistaken. The old reliable pizza is no more; it has become a horrible frozen creation and the salad was extremely tough. I guess we have to give up on Fiorello and leave it to the unsuspecting tourists.
We arrived for our reservations made in June to find our party of five crammed in between three tables in the middle of the dining room (as if we were a late arrival and after thought), leaving us insufficient room to do anything more than sit right against the table. When my son got bumped by a passing waiter, I asked to be moved. After rejecting the option of another table in the same crowded room, we were moved to a more acceptable table in another room. This room was only slightly quieter than the distractingly noisy fir... read more
