Surprises: none good. Seated after a delay while staff had a chat. Reservation was 5:15. Order taken: 5:35. Mixed antipasto served 20 minutes later. Prices about double what I remembered. Pizzas start at $28. NEVER AGAIN.

Convenient to Lincoln Center - however I do recommend with some hesitation. Although the food is very good, the wait staff needed to be asked for everything - they seemed spread to thin. We have enjoyed many meals here over the years and were surprised at the very mediocre dining experience. We saw the wait staff spill twice on customers during the brief 90 minutes we were there. Very odd.

The best thing about Cafe Fiorello is it's location. Being just across the street from Lincoln Center is it's best feature especially on a cold, windy night. They did seat me before my friend arrived so I had a comfy place to wait for her. Someone came around with a tray of chocolate cookies right from the oven while I was waiting. The foccaccia bread and crackers were yummy too. The prices were way too high for the quality of the food. Twelve dollars for a salad-well I just couldn't do it. The veal marsala was just okay. Very expensive and glitzzy for what should have been more substance. Waiter needed to be reminded several times about water and eventually placed a open, unmarked bottle on the table..without ice. Servings grossly too big. It was more show than flavor and delicacy. Dessert, mousse in a tub, was gross in presentation and taste. Overall, a great location, across from Lincoln Center, but that's about it.

Seated at round table. So tight we couldn't move. Table slanted. Moved to a booth- better, more comfortable. Appetizers for four arrived. Nothing for 5th person. She sat and waited for her appetizer. We flagged down a passing waiter. He investigated. Whoops, kitchen out of what 5th person ordered; she needed to choose something else. Service awful. No one came to see how we were doing. We had to capture the attention of anyone who worked there to get what we needed (more bread, some oil and vinegar- nothing out of the ordina... read more

Good pre-theater spot, but reserving in advance is a necessity. The food is uneven; thin-crust pizzas are tasty, but stay away from the plate-sized veal milanese.

The food is reliable here but the packed crowd not only created overwhelming noise but also overwhelmed the kitchen, which was extremely slow getting our food out. We ordered the very good thin crust pizzas but our waiter did not inform us that there was a "half hour wait for the one pizza oven", until we asked him about the delay-- it would have been helpful if he warned us upfront!

We declined to eat there because they had so over-booked that we would have had to wait a half hour for our table, which was impossible as we had a 8:00 o'clock curtain to make.

the service was very slow, not the server's fault who had to cover many tables with young children, all who were on their way to the Nutcracker. this is not the first time I have experienced this situation, we actually traditionally eat at Fiorello's before the Nutcracker and it is always some sort of chaos. You would think an experienced eatery would know how to handle such an event. We are considering changing where we eat before the Nutcracker next season.
