Every dish, from salad, to pizza, to Entree (Branzino) was too oily, as though the chef touched it up by pouring olive oil over it. They have not listed prices in their online menu, and we found out the pizzas are around $30-34 mark! The flavor of the food was good, but they were all too greasy. It was definitely not worth $110 for 3 dishes and a bottle of water.
Cafe Fiorello, a perfect place for Lincoln Center pre-theater dining. On a 5/12/2010 Wednesday matinee trip, the food was wonderful and the service was superb, friendly and gracious in every way. A charming touch was the Maitre de coming by every 20 minutes or so with a tray of hot mini-muffins or cookies. Our server was most attentive to our every request. We will return..!!!
For years Fiorello's has been one of our favorite places and would visit it as often as we go to the city. BUT, they have changed their menu and it's become nothing more than an expensive pre-theater pizza parlor. Our visit before this one was only a month ago and the changes were very disappointing. So far they haven't removed the wonderful anitpasti bar. Yet. I don't think we'll go back.
Expensive, mediocre food , large portions in some dishes, very touristy
They were out of many things we ordered VERY NOISY!! Seated too tight We heard other convesations better than our own Food very good Allen Wahby
This restaurant is extremely noisy, crowded, uncomfortable. It doesn't provide a relaxed dining experience. The waiters are rushing about, not able to remember the orders, to refil water glasses, etc. I will not eat there again.
They lost their chef. The food used to be decent (not gourmet for foodies at all, but decent). Now it is awful...the pizza crust tasted like raw dough, the sauce was overly sweet, the cheese---non-descript. It's a shame, but when a restaurant loses a chef, it's usually downhill after that. I don't know when the chef left...food was poor.
Perhaps it was a bad night but my fish looked and tasted like it had been grilled early in the day and briefly passed under a microwave, It was lukewarm as were the asparagus. My husband found his pasta to be hard and the sauce lumpy. In the past we've found Fiorello acceptable before Lincoln Center, but after this meal we won't be back.
Food was good; restaurant was loud/noisy and the tables were too close together.... obviously trying to maximizecapacity, but I really don't appreciate literally brushing elbows with the patrons at the next table. Overpriced, but probably had to do with location.
