Dr groysman is smart and a good doctor, but I didn’t like how they made me feel during the appointment. They emailed me and told me to make an appointment, so I did, and went and gave my concerns regarding my skin. The dermatologist and her assistant were talking outside the very not sound-proof door about how I “didn’t know why I was here” and I “just blurted out” all my medical concerns. For a younger generation this is the place to go. I as a 61 year old felt very out of place. I know Tuscaloosa is a University town. The PA was very good. Yes I would recommendation it to the 18-26 age group. But that older crowd of people no I know what about bull feel like in a China store.
Appointment was scheduled at 3pm and didn’t go to the back until 3:38 pm and appoint was over in 7 mins tops.
I called in July asking to be seen about suspicious spots on my skin (I have a history of basal cell carcinoma), but I couldn't be seen until November. During my visit, Dr. Gerald (who was delightful) biopsied a spot on my calf and said someone would follow up with me. I received a call on 11/15 telling me the spot is indeed basal cell carcinoma and that Dr. Gerald recommended curettage and electrodesiccation to treat it. I received way too many emails, text and phone calls before the appointment even up to 1 hour before the appointment. Not to mention being sent to the portal twice even though I was told it was complete the first time. I arrived 30 minutes early for a 1:30 pm appointment. I was finally seen after 2:15pm. You want me to show up on time, but my time to you is not important. I know the routine of booking way too many patients close to the same time.
I felt like I was rushed out pretty quickly. The doctor was in and out of the room in less than 5 minutes and I don’t feel like I even have enough time to think of any questions I might have had before she walked out. I also never received the medications that were supposed to be sent to the pharmacy.
This was the first visit and the follow-up will be the last. The appointment was on Wednesday, 6/20/18 at 9:30 am. The doctor was supposed to phone in the medications. We are still waiting and it has been two business days. I called the pharmacy that I use and they haven't received any prescriptions for my daughter. I entered the pharmacy information and gave the phone number at the office visit. I've never had to wait or call a doctor to find out why the prescriptions were not called in. I am not pleased with my diagnosis. I have a granddaughter with eczema I do not have eczema on my leg in one spot..the medication is not working..
I felt as though I barely got to speak to the doctor before she was gone to the next patient. I had concerns that I feel were not addressed properly
