I've been a member at the Village for over two years now, and can say this is one of the best health clubs in Phoenix, especially if you're a tennis player (or looking into becoming one). Despite the weather being perfect almost year-round, finding great tennis courts around the valley can be a difficult task. The Village has 15 hardcourt tennis courts in total, and each one is kept in almost pristine condition year round. There are dozens of leagues for men/women/mixed singles and doubles, in addition to clinics and classes... read more

Business response:

Gus, Thank you so much for the glowing review! Couldn't be happier about how much you are enjoying the Village. Your experience here is the experience we strive to give every member who walks through our doors. We are so glad to have you as a part of our Village family! See you around the club.

Nonsense! Your organization is NOT offering any "deep" membership discounts during COVID as you have suggested. Additionally, your organization doesn't even professionally respond to valid submitted questions about your so called discounted current membership rates when I have submitted inquires via your website 3x times thus far. From the actions of Village management, it seems as if only "profits" definitely come before the welfare of your "members" overall.

Business response:

Timothy, it is true that we don't offer variable monthly membership dues. It is our company policy to have all our members paying the same monthly dues. We don't feel we should have certain members getting discounts and not others. We traditionally have a military and teacher discount on the enrollment fees. Right now, because of the pandemic, we are offering historically low enrollment fees to help the community be able to join the Village and get healthy. Because of this rich offer, we are not allowing any additional disco... read more

I joined in April 2020 and was not able to use the facility during the peak of COVID, which I completely understand, and membership dues were waived during this time as well. However coming back, classes were limited and masks mandated, also understood however I cannot work out with a mask nor were the times classes were offered worked in my schedule. So it was rendered useless for me. I went through Laura to see if I could get a credit or partial initiation fee (quite pricey by the way) back since I had just joined and bare... read more

Business response:

Vasvi, we understand the mandated face covering requirement can take some time to get used to. To help with this, we were able to offer some classes outside and just launched a Village Virtual Platform for members to work out without a face covering. It looks like you visited the club the most during June, September and October. As explained in our cancellation policy, the enrollment fee is non-refundable. We tried to be very fair to accommodate all our members needs during the pandemic. Thanks

I absolutely love this gym. Front desk people are amazing, as well as everybody else. (even housekeeping ladies are super sweet, Anna is my favorite). Instructors are the best! But Childcare people are above everything else. If not them, I woudn't be able to enjoy it as I do. They are absolutely out of this world super stars. Anita is the nicest person on earth! My little babies (1yo & 3 yo ) absolutely love them. Sindy, Debrah, Niccole, there is also a new guy, dont remember tht name, but everybody is so great. I was debati... read more

Business response:

I have been a long-time member of the Village. I only took fitness classes and enjoyed Zumba, Step (especially Robert's Saturday morning class), Trampoline, and Kickboxing multiple times a week. For years, I went to the Village for Yoga classes but felt the program had declined, became unfocused, and lacked leadership so I opted to go to some of the local yoga studios instead. In general, I was content. When the Village initially re-opened (prematurely in my opinion), I put my membership on Hold and argued to have the fee wa... read more

Business response:

Bree, we are sorry that you decided to cancel your Village membership. When we decided to reopen the Village in June we worked with the former Director of the Department of Health Services, the CDC and several national and international clubs to develop the best safety guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. We had a successful reopening and for our members that felt they were not ready to come back yet, we allowed them to keep their membership on freeze. Then we had our second shut down and in educating the Govern... read more

Big fan of the village. They do a great job at keeping the place clean during Covid-19. Its not fair the gyms have to close but casinos and liquor stores get to stay open. I'm sorry staff and ownership that business is closing temporarily again. I was just getting to love the place. :(

Love this fitness center. I am in Scottsdale 2-3 days a week and this has become my oasis. When I move here in August I will definitely make this my 6 day a week gym and participate more on the endless social events they offer.

2.5 Years later. Still loving it! The front desk staff is the best in the world! Have made so many friends and had so many great times there.... I recommend you jump in....starting tennis in your....well...later years IS possible. You can take the free "tennis today" and get started in the beginning league and have a great time! Newer fancy pants gyms may be opening up soon nearby....but they won't have the close knit community you find here in the tennis family at the Village!
