If you're looking for a weight room where high school kids and tennis players sit on the equipment and tap away on their phones, this is definitely the place. And of course TVs that broadcast tennis and golf over NFL week one games. Ugh! Great facility and location. Just wish they'd manage the details. Great staff... however, apparently management has instructed them that it's a higher priority to stock hundreds of excess clean towels rather than helping to remind guests to re-rack weights, pick up empty water cups off the f... read more
Business response:
Michael, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Our tv channels are based upon member's requests and you may request for a different channel to be on if you would like. Our fitness counselors routinely circle the club to clean equipment, rack weights and clean up after members. Throughout the club, we do have "No Cellphone" signs and do ask that people stop using them while they are on the machines.
The front desk manager is a rude person. We went last night, and I asked the girl at the front desk if I can speak to someone in membership. She seemed confused and needed to discuss with a guy behind the counter. The guy comes to me and wants my info in the kiosk and wants a copy of my driver's license. I told him I just have a couple questions for a membership person. He says if I dont give my driver's license then I'm not talking to anyone. I said I will go to another gym then. He replies..."See Ya!". It's a shame that a ... read more
Business response:
Don, Thank you for speaking with us to resolve this misunderstanding.
Great club, but terrible customer service and memberships. The fact that they would charge your 2 year old kid to enter the club with adult supervision is ridiculous. Why I should have to pay a membership for my 2 year old son is beyond me. What's even more outrageous is the fact that they charge the same whether you have 1 kid or 10 kids. Initiation is also outrageous at $1200. I have been a member at some very elite athletic clubs all over the country, and this is by far the least favorable program to members. Do not join ... read more

Joe, Our policy is any child that utilizes any area of the Club outside of the childcare services, is required to be part of a family membership. If there are programs or activities parents wish their children to be a part of, we do offer to them as guests up to 2 times per month. At that point, the parents may remain as a couples membership.
I've been a member of the Village since 2009 and have had nothing but the best experience at this club. Combine this with the fact that it's about 1 mile from my home and I'm at the facility a lot. The front desk staff are consistently friendly, the personal trainers rock, and the cardio room boasts individual televisions. Took some fine tennis lessons from the pro staff as well. There's even a bar to have a cold wine or beer after a good workout. The Village is the best.
Business response:
Thank you Jonathan for your kind review! We are so happy that you love the club and love having you as a member. See you around the club!
Nice facilities, but not as great if you don't play basketball. Locker room can be a little cramped. Food and beverage service could be a lot more attractive. Snotty. Entitled teens. Expensive. I came to dislike going.
Business response:
Tim, We are sorry that you found your experience here unsatisfactory. At the Village, we strive to provide our members with the best experience and customer service.
Love my new membership ! Even during the busiest time there is plenty of extra machines and cardio machines ! Love this place !!
The Camelback Village is a good place. It used to be a great place ... a full 5 stars ... but over the past few years it has become increasingly crowded to the point you really have trouble parking and getting into some of the classes. As a current and long-time member I no longer feel good about recommended the Village to my friends or prospective members. And while it has become more crowded they keep raising the fees. I just got my January statement and they increased my dues by 7.8%. That would be okay if that in isolati... read more
Business response:
Dennis, thank you for your feedback. We added valet as our short-term solution for parking and we are finalizing our long-term parking solution for Camelback. We appreciate your patience and know that we take the parking issue very seriously. We increased our Camelback Single and Couple Fitness dues this year to match our standard member dues. This allows those members to use all areas of the club and standardizes our pricing for Single and Couple memberships. The Village is comprised of 75% frontline employees and the incre... read more
We have had a family membership at the village for over twenty years. As a result, we regularly receive day and week passes for friends and family. I am currently visiting my parents for Christmas and they will not allow me to use the week pass because I live out of state. This is absolutely ridiculous as they clearly do not value loyalty. I understand that they want potential members using the trial, but 20 YEARS of membership and they can't let a 25 year old girl use the gym for 45 minutes a day, ONE WEEK of the year. I a... read more
Business response:
After checking with our membership and front desk employees, we discovered that when you came in with the week pass our staff didn't know of your family's longtime membership with the club. Had we have known, we would have extended a complimentary one week pass. We have met with our front desk and membership staff to instruct them to ask a few more questions before just saying "no". Please contact our General Manager, Paul Apana, so he can have a complimentary one week pass waiting for you. Thank you for making us aware of ... read more
The facilities are nice very similar to lifetime fitness but with less space equipment classes etc. $1200 sign up fee and $175 monthly membership fee is overpriced for the market. compared to lifetime fitness who has the same amenities with more of everything and they are zero sign up fees and $100 monthly for an onyx gym and $62 for a bronze
Business response:
Kelee, We appreciate your input; however, we are definitely different from all of our competitors. The Village prides itself on building a lifestyle around fitness. We have monthly happy hours, quarterly free member parties, which include a 3-course meal with an open bar, as well as numerous social events designed to give our members the opportunity to get to know each other on a personal level. Our goal is to provide the best quality facilities and programs in a country club setting. As for the membership cost, not all ... read more
