I am/was a resident of this facility i had two surgeries one for foot and one in Hernia burst I stayed in hospital for a week and transport to Care One At the Highlands On June 3rd They put me first room It look dull and dirty smellly and I told them I don't want this room I want go other room so I found other room perfect It was ok I did brought my own Hand Sanitizer and alcohol wipes To clean overbed table bed rail and head board and foot board U know I did see many germs fingerprints . I am a friend or relative of a resident My dad was at CareOne. It was awful. They did have adequate staff, but they did not have any activity director. The one nurse and two assistants on at night were constantly sleeping. They basically run it like a hotel and not like an assisted living or another facility. You need to be there 10 to 12 hours a day to make sure that your loved ones are being cared for well.
I am a friend or relative of resident My mother was sent to Care One At Welling on a Friday afternoon after a hip replacement. There were 2 reason for her going to a rehabilitation facility; 1,. she wanted to ensure someone would help her to the bathroom and 2, to receive physical therapy to aid in her recovery. I met with the admissions director prior to her going to this facility and was told she would receive physical therapy twice a day and how well she would be cared for. Other The food is terrible. I didn't appreciate being bathed my male aide. They are very understaffed.
I am/was a resident of this facility For physical and occupational therapy, this is an excellent facility. Some nursing staff are not as diligent as they should be, especially when it comes to medication; you have to know what pills you're supposed to be getting when; one time i was given another patient's meds!. Doctor assigned to me was not someone i would ever go to again; getting in touch with her, even getting to see her, was often challenging which impeded my recovery. I am a friend or relative of resident HORRIBLE PLACE !!!!! If patient cannot get up and help themselves, then they are doomed. Takes forever for nurse or aid to come if ever ! Daily hygiene is a joke, teeth brushing....forget it. Floors are not cleaned daily. Aid complained about having to move patient in lounge chair because the chair is heavy to push.....duh !!! I am a friend or relative of resident My father in law was directed from Rahway hospital, he was basically pushed to this place, the social worker gave my wife several choices and then said he has to go to a place were the doctor is associated? Upon transfer the problems began. First, they lost his dentures, communication with staff was non existent, no one could give any information, even doctors said I don't know. I am a friend or relative of resident This by far is THE worst facility with uncaring doctors and some nurses. The aides were better than the nurses. My mother was in there and fell several times. We were never told but saw the bruises then inquired and told oh yes she fell. If they can't handle a patient they continue to medicate through the day therefore sleeping all day long then up all night. The director of nursing is a joke and ships them out if staff can't handle. I am a friend or relative of resident What a mistake. They got my mother confused with another patient. The Social Worker was absent mentally. She truly did not care about anything but her social life. And that was based on her telling me that she had to leave for this or that and it was always early in the day. The Social Worker was a danger to patients because she did not do her job and assist families and patients in this poorly run/dirty SNH. Management .... well if they went home and stayed home it would be helpful
