In one word AWFUL. Run far away from this facility. My parent was there years ago. The food was horrible. Taste was tasteless and it looked like diarrhea. We were talked into putting him into their dementia unit promising that he would have better care. He would call for assistance and have to wait sometimes over 30 minutes. Complaints go nowhere. The workers were overworked as CARE NONE did not have adequate staffing. I eventually had to contact the state ombudsman as it got so bad.
Though Care One at Wayne was an adequate facility for my grandfather’s recovery, their handling of the Covid-19 crisis was absolutely unacceptable. Two weeks into my grandfather’s stay, they began barring visitors from entering the facility, which they did act early on, but on FaceTime calls with my grandfather it was obvious that social distancing practices were NOT taking place within the facility. Horrible care for my grandmother.would not recommend. They do not care for their patients ass they should. Grandmother got a bunch of bedsores and infections. Not to mention all the bed falls in their care! For the price paid there should be better care given!
Just found out my Aunt is there..albeit temporary after a pnuemonia & wound infection bout.But the news I received yesterday is that she now has a open wound on her rear..after 2 weeks.She is 94 years old with one son.She lived alone, refuses to move with her son, out of state...But she did not have a decubitis when she left home or hospital! !Im very upset & heading there today, first time visit. Staff is friendly, room is clean. Food is mediocre. The medical care is lacking.Nurses are LPN and unaware of medical issues. I had to call 911 twice to save my mothers life. She was hospitalized each time for five to seven days.The medical staff was unapologetic and rude. They did not even recognize their own incompetence. If you are fairly healthy with no complications it is a nice place. If there are medical complications good luck.
Place is awful.. Do not, I repeat do not put your loved ones in Highlands Care One in Edison, NJ. Of course you will fine 1 or 2 decent workers, everyone else is incompetent. Patients are not turned as they are supposed to. Administration is just useless. Talked to one girl I think [name removed], she tried to give my mom an attitude but we fixed that quickly. Just take a look for yourself and watch what goes on there and you’ll see. I’ll be making official complaints.
Improperly evaluated for entry. Tried to keep her there even when they could not provide the level of care required. Moved client to long term care, then hospice. Now dead. At assisted living, dropped her 3 times. She was there a month and they kept half of the $18k. Looks like a palace but under served. Managed poorly.
Housekeeping horrible after person left in shared room garbage and half eaten food tray remained for two days until they were told. Ants in room carpenter and small ones crawling on patient and room. More then one occasion workers on cell phones or using ear buds while patients lights blinking above room doors meaning they need help.lab worker results not reported to physicians in timely manner resulting wanting to keep patients longer. Poor communication with family
This was a dissapointment. the receptionist was curt and told us that we would have to wait until the nurse made her rounds even tho we had a scheduled appointment. the tour was not the that informative, the occupants were not engages and we saw a cafeteria attendent with her head down on a table sleeping/resting. picked her head up look at us on the tour and put her head back down. the occupants looked sad and uninvolved in their surroundings.
