I have been coming to Caring Hands Clarendon with my boxer pups for years. This location is amazing with getting pets in for visits; we enjoyed Caring Hands Alexandria and Arlington too, but visit this location because we have had the best luck with getting timely appointments, and because of Dr. Thornton. All doctors we have seen at this location are wonderful, but Dr. Thornton deserves a special shout out. My dog was a brief patient here due to us moving out of state. Dr. Emily Thornton was a great vet who was efficient, thorough, and kindly addressed our concerns. I wish this were a fear-free practice. My dog is hesitant at the vet, and we've had better experiences with his anxiety at the nearby City Paws Animal Hospital in D.C. which employs fear-free practices such as sitting on the floor and letting the dog come to them. Dr Thornton is the best. There appears to be some turnover here so Ive had good experienced and bad but un the last couple of yours I was blessed to have Dr. Thornton. I highly recommend, requested her for your first appointment and ask to be scheduled with her for your appointments. She and I put my last dog Cairn terrier Harley down in aug 2023 at the ripe old age of 17.5 years. She added probably added an extra year or two for him due to modern medicine and her experience.

Even though this is a drive from my home in DC, I've found this to be my first choice for veterinary care. Not only is the care exceptional but the prices are very reasonable. My dog is always treated with attention and care. I'm willing to endure the trauma of driving in DC traffic to get the care, attention, and focus that's given to my furry family member.

We just relocated here from Fort Lauderdale and one of my pups developed a little stomach bug. Of course it happen late Friday and rolled into Saturday. We called Caring Hands at 8 when they opened and they were able to schedule us in as new patients for an 11am visit. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Samantha our vet tech was very knowledgeable and friendly. She did the initial exam and Dr. Emond came in shortly after. Really lucky to have found this place, The best in the area, like none other. Clean, quiet, efficient, good communication from doctors. We really like our vet Dr. Thornton, she is one of the best, very caring and understanding. Also, the front desc person Katerina is the very best, helpful, friendly, knowledgable, excellent communication skills, gets done the job right and In a timely manner, unlike anyone else. They have really good hours, just wish they had an Emergency Room.
My elderly cat is going through several end-of-life health issues. The doctors and staff at Caring Hands are wonderful at offering short-term solutions that are making his remaining days as comfortable as possible. Whenever I bring him in, they treat him with as much care as if he were their own cat. I couldn't ask for a more supportive team of people.
This is a good veterinary establishment. I have a cat that requires a regular allergy shot. He is not easy to deal with and the staff here was very willing to accommodate my requests so that he does not have to be sedated before every shot. I highly recommend this vet.
The absolute best vet in the area! I left another vet in the area due to overall poor service and tried this place instead. I am amazed at how incredible the team here is, and their policies! They are extremely forgiving about late arrivals, which I rarely do, but it's nice to know you won't be turned away if you're a few minutes late.
