We eat here a lot...it is one of our favorites....but the last few times we have been very disappointed with the service. Phrases from the servers such as, "We're really busy" or "We're swamped tonight" get old really quick. It's a restaurant and it's a weekend - you should be busy, you should be able to handle busy. If more servers are needed - hire some. Reservations did not do much good - was 35 minutes late getting a table. It was V-Day, and we set beside a group of 12 and half were under 8 years old. Not the atmosphere that we were looking for. Food was okay, service okay -
My poor ratings were because it was Valentine's Day and the crowd was awful -- or Charbono's didn't handle it well. The waiting area was way too small; they should have funneled the overflow into their banquet room or bar. A man with holes in the seat of his jeans was literally sitting on our table. Charbono's also should have turned off their neon "Immediate Seating" sign in their window. We'll NEVER go there on a holiday again. As for Open Table, we were seated at our reservation time -- no waiting. Thank you.
Pretty alright overall. Good and friendly service that wasn't particularly timely. He was a new server and did great. Very personable. The food was mediocre, again, and overpriced for the quality. I will probably go again, but will try another dish.
Charbonos is my wife's favorite resturant! Well it was... It was mine too for a long time, however the overall quality of the food has greatly decreased. This wouldn't be too unforgivable because the quality was always really high, so even decreased it is pretty good. However the service has absolutely hit bottom! the food was very good and the table service was good also. The table placement was horrible, like sitting along a major highway. Had recservations and had to wait in a long line outside the door for quite a few minutes before we got to the reservations desk, then there was only one person trying to tajke care of everyone. Being as it was New Years Eve, I would have thought they would have been better prepared.
Restaurant was wonderful as usual. "open table" experience stinks - request for specific seating did not appear on computer to restaurant personnel so it was pretty worthless.
Had reservation. When we arrived the hostess said "Great--they are cleaning your table off right now." When we inquired about getting seated some 20+ minutes later she said she was sorry that people had just taken longer to leave than she thought. I told her that was fine but then she shouldn't have told me they were cleaning off a table when we arrived. Service was slow and restaurant very loud. Not nearly as good for food as it used to be.
For the first time service was poor. My brother's fries were brought and were cold. Food was just ok. It took 10+ minutes after dinner for us to get our check.
