Highly recommend Charleston Veterinary Referral Center - top notch all the way!!! Special thanks to Dr. Maston, Dr. Spain, and the caring staff who attended to our sweet boy, Beau. Everyone demonstrated great compassion toward us (his "paw-rents") during an exceedingly difficult time. Our only regret is not bringing him to this fantastic facility sooner. #compassion, honesty, and expertise.

We have trusted CVRC with our pets' emergency medical and specialty care for over a decade. We have had 2 dogs with cancer (1 who battled hemangiosarcoma twice), 1 with canine cognitive dysfunction (dementia), and 1 with a weird GI case. We have never once questioned our decision to seek treatment at CVRC. We have always received expert care from every member of the staff. The compassion and empathy shown has increased our confidence in making decisions for what is best for our pets. We've had some heartbreaking moments at C... read more

After nearly a year of unsuccessful treatment at another veterinary specialty center (out of state) we were so lucky to find Charleston Veterinary Referral Center! Dr. Garnett and his surgical colleagues went above and beyond to understand Lila's unique history and present us with options . This thoughtful, attentive care and real concern for her comfort and health has been impressive from start to finish. We've been supported, educated, and truly heard by every member of her care team. While we are thrilled that she i... read more

Staff was caring. They helped me get my dog out of the car, explained what was happening and reassured me that Henry would be ok. Kindly and quickly provided updates when I called during his 3 day stay . explained what was happpening clearly and calmly. You don't hear many good things about emergency vets these days, but my experience was very good! Henry is home and well now.

CVRC has done an excellent job of taking care of our two very medically complex dogs. They are definitely the number one specialty veterinary hospital in the state. Their doctors have done a great job of taking into account our scientific background and explaining our dogs care in more detailed terms. Our only major suggestion is that it would be nice for them to install EV car chargers for guests. Thank you for your great care!

Yesterday was our third time at CVRC (second emergency, and also came here for internal medicine before) and I feel very comfortable here. Going to an ER vet is scary because something is wrong with your pet, and the self pay aspect can be almost as scary. Every time I've been here, I felt the staff were transparent on differential diagnosis, treatment options and also overall care\costs. YES an ER visit is expensive for humans or dogs, but both times here, I felt the price I paid was extremely fair based on the services, te... read more

We have the greatest trust in the Charleston Veterinary Referral Center, and especially in Dr. Sophy Jesty, who regularly checks our aging Maine Coon cats for HCM and we depend upon her not only for her specialty, but also to consider the overall health of the cats in making recommendations for anaesthesia and other procedures.

I was glad they were able to get Stella consulted early so she can get in for surgery. She had her last TPLO there and had great results
