We adopted an adorable male kitten about a year ago. He had a few of the regular health issues that kittens have and we were referred to Civic Feline Clinic by a friend Very unexpectedly, our cat at about a year developed severe diarrhea. Brought him in and some tests lead to surgery, which very unfortunately led to the diagnosis of FIP (always fatal). This was beyond devastating as we had fallen hard for this kitty. They handled us so carefully and sweetly. Despite the vets recommendation that the cat be put down imme... read more
My Fiance and I adopted two kittens, we got a 72 hour window to get them free checkups and we read some reviews and Civic Feline had outstanding reviews. We made an appointment and they are open late on Tuesday and Thursday, we had a later appointment. Dr. Ellis answered all of our questions thoroughly and really knows her stuff, plus loves cats, she is a great doctor. Gave us some free toys also, that the cats love. A week or two later, one of the kittens was peeing on my side of the bed a lot, and I called, they said bri... read more
I had the BEST experience here this week. Dr. Roach, who was new to me, was excellent. My two kitties are tricky at the vet and Baby Girl Kitty even has a caution stamp on her file. It started with the tech who understood when I said my kitties were not happy. After she got their weight and before she left the room, she asked if there was anything else I wanted to let the vet know. Wow! I told her that my cats were scared and did better if I was present, touching and calming them. When Dr. Roach came in, she was calm, soft ... read more
This place is the best! Right when you walk in the door the office is warm, friendly and doesn't feel like a clinic at all. There are multiple cats that roam freely and lounge about. Everyone from the receptionists to the doctors are super nice and outgoing. I definitely feel like they really love animals and not just after your money. I wouldn't take my cats to any other place. They also have great little cat toys that my cats go crazy for.
We have 3 cats so it was awesome that we found civic feline clinic that specializes in cats. Our cats would get freaked out hearing dogs barking at our last vet office, even if it was a separate entrance... Dr. Ellis has been a lifesaver LITERALLY on our 3 cats. She especially saved our little kitty's life when she did an X-ray and diagnosed her as possibly having a foreign body in her belly. She even called another doc to come and do an ultrasound on our kitty to confirm what she was suspicious of. It turned out to be... read more
Our cats are our "kids" so I can't believe my boyfriend and I ever settled for anything less than Civic Feline Clinic when we first moved to Walnut Creek. For the first two years in this town, we took them to another local vet and had just felt "meh" about this other place. I decided to make a change after learning more about Civic Feline Clinic and reading some of the very positive reviews they have. We've taken them to both Dr. Ellis and Dr. Roach and trust each of these doctors implicitly. Over the last few years we've h... read more
I highly recommend this clinic, specifically Dr Lally. My wife and I have two cats, the younger of which we rescued as a stray a couple of years ago. We took our other cat to Dr Lally when she was at another clinic. We now continue to take both of our cats to her, even though it's a farther drive. She is always very nice, very knowledgeable, explains everything, gives her honest opinion about what our cats need and what they don't need and gave us options when applicable. We won't take our cats to another vet, despite t... read more
I have no doubt that the care is probably really good, but their prices are really high! I have two 4 month old kittens that I brought in for shots. The normal charge is $62 + PER CAT just to walk in the door. The only saving grace was that I had adopted from a rescue, so they waived the cost of the first visit. I still walked out spending $220 for vaccinations and 2 feline leukemia tests. Oy vey. I will say that the office staff was VERY friendly and I received excellent customer service.
We had three elderly cats we loved dearly, rescued when they were kittens. They had their share of medical issues over the years. Two ended up with thickened intestine areas per the ultrasound that caused weight loss, diarrhea, etc. We never knew for sure whether it was cancer, or simple IBS because we chose not to do exploratory surgery/biopsies at their age but to keep them comfortable; steroids helped. But the doctors were always very straight-forward with us and gave us all of the information we needed to make sound ... read more
