Friendly staff. Quiet and calm office. We had to wait about 20 minutes past our appointment time to see the doctor, but that's not necessarily uncommon. Our cat has been limping. The doctor diagnosed our cat with a soft tissue injury and sent us home with a prescription. Did not recommend unnecessary exam items like an X-ray which would only show bone damage, not soft tissue (as other vets might have) and instead did a thorough orthopedic physical exam. Prices seemed reasonable, not as reasonable as my last vet but that's wh... read more

Dr. Ellis is a miracle worker. My Japanese Bobtail, Bashi, has had a persistent ear infection that was getting better, but oh so slowly. Dr. Ellis was very gentle with Bashi, but most important, listened to me, and together, we think we solved her health issues. That is what i like about Civic Feline. Kind, caring vets that know cats and want to work with owners to give cats the best medical care possible.

I love my cats and I love the fact that I know they're getting the best care possible when I take them in to see Dr. Ellis at Civic Feline Clinic. Not only does she know 'all things cats', but she always takes the time to explain things and you don't feel like you're being rushed out the door! Angela and Kim at the front desk are a real asset to the practice. They try really hard to get an appointment just when you want it, I've had a series of cats coming to Civic Feline Clinic since the 80's, and I wouldn't want to ever ... read more

I have taken my kitties to the folks at Civic Feline since 1984... and I have never considered any other alternative. The practice has always been completely sympathetic with the clientele... and now that Dr. Ellis has purchased the practice, the level of care from the staff has been amazing. If you live in the Contra Costa area and near Walnut Creek, you should not consider any other care for your precious feline family members!

I have been working with Dr. Roach to care for my cat since I moved to Walnut Creek about a year ago. Most recently, my elderly cat got an aggressive cancer - through the whole process Dr. Roach worked with me as a partner in his care - listening to my concerns, explaining her view and working with me to figure out a plan of action, each step of they way. When it was eventually time to euthanize my cat, Dr. Roach's care for both me and my cat was incredible. She showed great support and compassion through the whole proce... read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Civic Feline Clinic is the absolute best place we have ever taken our cats. We have a kitty with a chronic condition and Dr. Melanie Ellis is a genius with him. First of all, she is extremely knowledgable when it comes to medications. She has tried a variety of cocktails for our baby, which have all worked as temporary solutions, but as she says, "I'm greedy. I want the cure." She is relentless when it comes to finding a permanent solution for our guy. She clearly loves cats with... read more

Three and half years ago after losing our 17 year old cat Sadie, I decided it was time to adopt a new kitty and that's when Lexie came into our lives. Of course my first call upon bringing her home was to Civic Feline clinic to schedule her for her new kitten well baby check. Dr. Ellis checked her over from head to tail & gave me great advice on the ins & outs of kittenhood. At 8 months old, Lexie began to have seizures. I was panicked and heartbroken. Dr. Ellis was wonderful, explaining what she thought was going on and s... read more
