In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. We enjoyed the roast and mashed potatoes!! The sweet cornbread was the best I have eaten! Oh and the pies, the pies!! We had no room for those scrumptious pies!! Montana provides excellent customer service!

I wanted to share possibly one of the best experiences I have had at eat in restaurant. Our restaurant is in gilroy, ca. Our server was Daejah and she was very welcoming and friendly. My son is high-functioning autistic and we were sitting by the front entrance area where there is a lot of traffic in and out as well as a lot of noise. My son was having a difficult time regulating his emotions with all the noise and stuff going on around him he kind of shut down and was picking at his face. We love Black Bear diner. We’ve been to several locations and they have all be superb! The food and service is always really good. Ali was our server at the Ogden location, and she was very good at making sure our drinks and bellies were full. I’m not sure if this is just the ora at this restaurant, but she put in the extra effort to really make our experience great! All the employees are all really polite and generally want you to have a good experience!
My student and i have eaten at the black bear located in northern Oklahoma city Oklahoma 3 times our servers name was Matt he was AMAZING. Very polite very professional at the same time laughed and joked with us and gave excellent advice and was able to answer all of our questions
