Been going to culpeppers for years. Not the same since new ownership. First few times we went after new ownership it was not great but wanted to give them a chance. We just finished eating and thought I would post this. We probably will not be going back. Really poor service and the food was not great. Seems to be getting worse than better.l

Pros: nice atmosphere and good food Cons: it's not easy finding parking. It's very loud inside. They didn't have napkins or silverware. When I asked if I could just have some extra cocktail napkins the bartender gave them to me with wet hands, so most of the napkins were wet. And they gave me my appetizer at the same time as my entrée. For a $57 meal, that was kind of annoying.

This is the third time I've tried to make reservations and again no seating inside for dinner. What does it take to get a reservation for dinner at this place? Grew up going here in the 80's and 90's and we have been wanting to try the new revised Culpepper Cattle but have been unsuccessful at getting a reservation, guess I'll try again another time.

Fantastic layout and rustic look , very friendly staff , decent prices . Now the serious review starts. I order a margarita. It shows up in a 8 oz glass with 6 oz of ice and maybe 2 sips of flavored water no taste of much other for $12 . More about this later. Then I ordered it 10 ounce prime rib my brother-in-law ordered an 8 ounce sirloin . my prime rib was thin with a lot of fat. I had ordered cowboy potatoes. Man, we were excited to come here for my son's graduation dinner. We last came here for his 16th birthday and it was amazing. WHAT HAPPENED? This isn't the place we fell in love with. The dining room is freezing. The tortillas are random and although it fits the Tex Mex theme, it was not what we expected or wanted. The appetizers were mediocre. It was just not a good dining experience -- the wait time for any type of service (drinks, food, questions) was ridiculous. The serving staff was pleasant enough, but they seemed to be very disjointed, inattentive, and unaware. We have been to Culpeppers a few times now since it reopened. Everything has been great up until tonight. I ordered chicken fajitas, and the order was incorrect somehow, but the other two people I was with got their food without issue. The waitress came by and apologized and said my food was in the works. More time passed (15-20 mins), and I never got my food and the other two people I was with finished their meals. Never thought I'd be the one to make a review on a restaurant, but low and behold- here I am. A few friends had suggested I come here, so me and my wife went ahead and tried it. Our server was hardly welcoming at all- had bad energy and was dismissive and rude. VERY unprofessional- could see the server mingling with other servers while other tables in our same section were awaiting service. Not the same. Took my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary which I reserved way ahead time for a large party and we were stuck way in the back corner very tightly squeezed in. Then they messed up more than half the orders and the food was subpar. Someone else compared it to Chili's, that is a good analogy.
