TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Dave's Hot Chicken opened in Arden-Arcade months ago. I keep thinking I want to try it. The first time was not long after their grand opening. I can't even find a parking at their parking lot. I decided to try them later. It ended up until now. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked into the dining room was the colorful interior design and the nice greeting from the young lady behind the cash register. I found myself in Sacramento hungry for a quick lunch. I love a good chicken sandwich. Pulled my Yelp app open and saw this spot that had a drive thru. There was no wait and I was in a hurry so did not end up going inside. I didn't get the employee name but he explained how the menu worked and you pick your heat level for the chicken. I went with a medium and mild. The sliders are bigger than an average slider in my opinion. I loved the medium. The mild not so much and some of my fries were cold that's why I took a star off.... read more

I had the mild and medium strips from here twice recently, and they are just really damn good. They are big, and even after being delivered, they still had a great texture, and the heat is really satisfying. I do have some friends who tried the reaper strip, and they were pretty miserable after just having one or two bites, so I don't know that they would recommend that one unless you were doing it for a dare or to show off. Ordered through DoorDash and the food came SO GOOD. I normally don't enjoy ordering my food through DoorDash. Especially something new. But wow I get the hype. The food tastes amazing, I can't wait to go and try it at the restaurant and not delivery. The chicken is great, hot definitely gets your mouth burning. Medium is a perfect balance. When I go in person I will definitely ask for my fries to be extra crispy. But the fries got a little soggy since they were delivered. Not the restaurants fault one bit. The food is wonderful. But what's more wonderful is Anthony! Who served us through drive thru. I can't believe I got a 5 star service for 3 minutes. I believe Anthony is far more better than his position right now. The 5-Star is for Anthony. Dave's is 4.9

The sliders are very good and good size! The prices are cheaper than other hot chicken places, service was outstanding, we got our order sat down and ate two different employees went to each table to make sure everything was good! will definitely go back and recommended!

Love love love this location. Chicken was absolutely delicious and Anthony was truely amazing easily some of the best customer service iv ever received while eating out daves hot chicken needs a Anthony at every store!
Oh man this place right here has some really good chicken! Why haven't I tried this before????So we ordered the sandwich with a piece of tender the heat was hot. Omg it was spicy but so dang delicious! Better than chick fil a, better than raising cane, Popeyes, KFCc anywhere that sells chicken this is better than them. I will definitely be back might go up a notch on the heat. I'm telling you, try it you'll like it!
