TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Once again, Dave's Hot Chicken continues to be an excellent spot. If you are looking for hot chicken that is pretty close to the real deal out in Nashville. If you are familiar with the Nashville, heat levels, choose one level higher here as they do hold back a little bit. Always consistently good. Right levels of spice depending on how hot you like your chicken to be (i usually get one medium and one hot). They are always fiendly and polite.

Overrated chicken to say the least. I'm not sure where all the hype stems from but it isn't worth it. The rub they use on their chicken didn't work for me and it felt a bit salty as well. It reminds me of the hot sauce they use at halal carts, which on chicken over rice is delicious, but on a fried chicken sandwich just didn't fit. Spicy but absolutely amazing sandwiches! The sauce is incredible, and the sandwich itself is so juicy and fresh. One is super filling, making it totally worth the price. If you're craving something flavorful and satisfying, this spot is a must-try!
