I hate this thing I hate this thing. It is completely unusable with my Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit system. Of course I have installed the latest drivers, but it has continual communication errors. I have never been able to complete more than one scan in a row before failure. It is going in the trash right now!

One Star Did ok for black and white but color scans on photographs were way off the original.
Disappointed Had to buy receipt software separately. This software didn't allow capture of lines items only receipt total.
Although it is fairly easy to scan stuff on here Although it is fairly easy to scan stuff on here, I have yet to find an easy way to find where my stuff saves. I am very computer savvy and many times can't find where to find my saved scanned items. This would be perfect if it saved in a place that was easy to find.
Two Stars The scanner didn't meet my expectations.
Only worked for 1 year Not a bad scanner, but it wont last long. I was using mine a few times a year and after 13 months I could not scan more than one page before I got an error code. After a total of 45 mins on the phone with Brother tech support, I was told I could send it to a facility in TN to get an estimate on what it would cost to repair it. Not sure its worth all that for an $89 scanner. So I guess you get a years worth of use and then throw it away and get a new one.
One Star Software is horrible with scanner.
Scanner stops mid-document. So far this is the worst scanner I have ever owned. In the middle of scanning a page this scanner will stop scanning, save the part scanned so far, and then continue scanning. This results in multiple files for a single piece of paper. This happens even though the cropping size is set to a fixed 8.5x11" This happens regardless of whether the destination is PDF or JPG.
