Faulty feeder causes distorted scanned images The scanner snags the right corner of my page, which causes the whole sheet to turn and slide warping the scanned image. I have to scan multiple times and pray that it will feed straight to get the pages scanned without distortion. Incredibly frustrating. Will have to purchase another scanner.
This thing is horrible. It won't scan anything This thing is horrible. It won't scan anything, keeps saying the paper is jammed and to start over. I have tried more than one item and get the same result. I'm sending it back.
Do not like that you have to install software Do not like that you have to install software. Having to return since work will not let me install software on work computer.
I bought This Mainly For Oversize Documents One thing I used to like about my HP Officejet 4500 All-In-One was the way the feed gizmo on top used to handle legal-size (8-1/2x13) documents that didn't fit on the flatbed. Like the way my AC contractor seems to "need" that size for a work invoice, plus my county property tax people like to do these wide spreadsheets for proposed tax figures. Then the scanner section of my Officejet croaked, leaving only the printer in operation. So I added a Canon flatbed scanner, but that maxe... read more
Great idea but poor construction. Went through 2 and both jam constantly because of the lip on the right side inside the scanner. USB port crapped out on second unit after a year or so.
Meh! Probably not worth a Benjamin. Want quality photo scanner that will preserve tint, handle dark shades, and not overexpose white? This is not it. This scanner adds red tint, adds contrast to dark shades (as in, you lose detail in dark parts of the photo), but oddly seems to handle white okay. I settled on 300DPI, +32 in brightness, -16 on contrast, before I was only semi-disappointed with the resulting scan. For over $100 I expect more, but you decide for yourselves what your expectations are for the price. Included soft... read more
Don't buy this - Look for something else! Don't buy this unless you very rarely need to scan anything. I've had mine for about 9 months, used it only once every couple of weeks for only 1 to maybe 10 pages of ordinary paper, and the thing has already died. Okay, maybe not completely died if you don't mind having one out of very two pages jam, forcing you to start the scan over. This is a very non-durable product. If you consider scanners to be disposable office supplies and plan to restock every few months, then by all means... read more
Low Price Point...Still Wasted Money As highlighted in other reviews, the software is less than user-friendly. Keep in mind that this product has been on the market for a while, and the bundled software is at least 5 years old. I understood this when I made my purchase, though, and did not reduce my rating because of old software. This device simply does not meet my needs. Straight out of the box, the page-feed rollers skip. After cleaning the inside of the [brand new] unit as instructed in the user manual, the rollers skip.... read more
Fast, Bad Scans The scans are awful and the user interface is very clumsy— adjustments of image quality are useless and yield no discernible result. The "Calibration" sheet also produced no result. You know how "you get what you pay for"? This product is a good example. We use Macs, OSX 10.11.6, so Mac users should be especially wary.
