I was given a fee after canceling my services, because I did not want to leave my card on file. My bill was up-to-date and yet because I did not feel comfortable with my card being on their files after my service was ended ! I was told I get a fee because I dont want to leave my card on file so, in other words, in case of fee is incurred, which legally I should be allowed 30 days to pay. Horrible. I made a horrible mistake getting insured with them. I had someone hit my car and run. My limit for uninsured property damages was 50k. They are refusing to pay the 16k for repairs, covering 12k and leaving me with the rest of the bill. Ive never experienced this with other insurance companies. Ive learners my ******* Buyer beware of Elephant products/insurance.
Been with them for for 4 years my car was hit nov 15 2023, so this is the 1st claim I have filed with them My car still is not fixed I go today to get my rental and the rental was cancelled. Last week they told us to wait for the rental place to call us but never got a call, so this week we get a call, set up rental just to find out it's been cancelled. I'm switching
I got in an accident last year that was not my fault and they charged me $100 more per month because of it. Then when my policy was set to renew this January they told me I now had to pay $700+ per month! This is my only accident on record and I have never had a ticket. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. i don't know how the state of ******** allows this business to stay open or conduct business at all. I was hit head on by their insured as she was driving and texting. Elephant accepted liability. And still has not paid me for anything. I have filed complaints with the Department of Insurance and I called Elephant today and conveniently the message says they are closed but lists online hours and on the phone office hours and they should be open. Much like other reviews, I called to cancel my policy IN ADVANCE (my renewal date was 1/16/24 and I called on 1/5/24 to make sure that I did not owe any additional fees. I was told by a representative that I did not owe anything as long as I cancelled by 1/16/24. I chose to set up 1/15/24 as my end date one day ahead of the renewal to be safe. Now, today, they billed my bank account for $306 for "past due balance from the beginning of my policy back in 2021" and according to them I have been carrying a balance since then. TH... read more
Before my last policy renewal, I was relatively satisfied with the cost of my auto premium. When it came time for my renewal this Dec., Elephant raised it by $200 making my premium over $400. They cited my credit for the increase. The problem with this 'reason' is my credit has pretty much been the same since the start of my auto policy. I was rear ended in a hit and run. I was assigned a claim. No one contacted me, so I eventually contacted someone about my claim by calling more than once. I was authorized a rental.A week passes with no communication. I call and find out my claim has been assigned to a total loss department. I call days later to get a voice mail message saying don't leave multiple messages and don't check back if it hasn't been at least 5 business days.
