I am a new embrace customer. I got a puppy and researched the best pet insurance and this company came up over and over. So I signed up. My puppy was healthy, had a recent vet exam. About 2 weeks afters my policy started, my puppy got pneumonia, Luckily illness coverage had started. I submitted the claim the day after she was discharged from the hospital. Claim was filed 5/4/26. I had Embrace Pet Insurance since 2022. When I received my dogs latest renewal it had gone up from $61.89 to $88.54 per month. I thought this was a lot since my dog has had NO claims. We took out a policy in February 2026. I don't know how Embrace got the ** ****** rating "outstanding in customer service"...? I started a policy on 4/18/26 with the knowledge of a requested review needing to be done to provide accurate coverage. Online states that the customer has to apply for the review, so I did on the day I started the policy and emailed full vet records. I also spoke with a representative the same day who informed me that a review would be completed no sooner than 14 days after purchasing the policy and a full refund provided in 30 days. This is singlehandedly the worst insurance I've ever had the displeasure of being subscribed to. Didn't get a single cent back from the "completed" claims. I had to pay $2k+ for my kitten's Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) within the last MONTH and had Embrace weeks before the visits AND the diagnosis. The tests, bloodwork, visits, compound medicine, they all added up to $2,000. I paid $125~ for Embrace membership (2 months) and they could only refund a measly $9. I cannot stress this enough... A newborn does not have pre-existing conditions, yet theyll gaslight you saying your puppys condition is pre-existing even if its their first vet visit. Then theyll deny you, mark the condition as a permanent pre-existing, and theyll raise your rate 25% a year or more. My veterinarian from ********************* argued with them on my behalf and they literally said sue us over speaker phone for both of us to hear. This company is a scam, many better alternatives. Literally ANYTHING but this insurance.

I insured a 6 month puppy just over a week after adopting from a shelter. There is a waiting period for the insurance to start. The second day after the accident portion of the coverage began my puppy passed a ****** bundle of sticks and needed to be hospitalized. Embrace will not cover it as there was no specific incident in which he ate a stick (he was just crazy about eating everything after being in the shelter his whole life and it was a constant battle). I had two pets on the accidental insurance policy with Embrace. One of the dogs died, so I reduced the policy to one dog with an annual cost of $1,101.84. On 5/4/26, I was notified that my Embrace renewal policy will increase to $2,215.08, a ******% increase. They only cited the dog's age (healthy 8 year old dog), as the cause of the astronomical increase.
