Never covered any of our claims throughout the entire time. Once I finally called to see what was going on (email responses took days at least) I was put on hold for over half an hour before anyone talked to me. During that time the hold music seemed designed to make you hang up. Would not recommend and would not to trust to take care of your pet when you need it.

This company consistently refuses to take calls, denies claims, and relies on carefully crafted language and automated responses. DON'T DO IT! DO NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO TAKE ONE CENT OF YOUR MONEY. Yes, I am screaming. They ask for documents piece by piece, and not all at once. I believe this is a tactic to get another monthly payment out of you. It is not going to work on me. I have emailed them to get information/clarification and I have sent messages over the app. I just hung up after waiting 25 min and listening to one song of classical music. Adopted a cat. Went to a vet for matted fur. Started policy in April anfter the matted fur. Every claim submitted was determined as a preexisting condition and would not be covered until 12-18 months without symptoms. Was told that even though my policy started after the matted fur they would consider that a preexisting condition as well. Called to cancel policy. Timely communication is non-existent. They repeatedly ask for the same documents that have already been given to them. I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks to hear back on an ER visit. I regret leaving HealthyPaws.

This company is an absolute scam, no ifs, ands, or buts. They'll happily collect your premium payments for years (which go up every year regardless of claims or lack-there-of) only to delay their claim response as long as humanly possible, and then deny your claim. I signed my dog up in October of 2022 and was told that because they saw diarrhea in his medical history review, diarrhea would be excluded from coverage TEMPORARILY for 12 months. Embrace pet insurance is a complete scam if your pet has vomiting or diarrhea prior to the illness waiting period of 14 days. They broadly use the very common "clinical sign" of vomiting and diarrhea to exclude ANY condition/diagnosis associated nausea or diarrhea should it occur "again" within 12 months. I agree with the other customers. This pet insurance is a scam. I have 5 pets on this insurance and not ONE claim has ever been approved for illness. They say my dog has skin and it had a bump once so now anything on his skin is not covered even when it’s completely unrelated to any prior diagnosis. Their “preexisting conditions” definition is applied to everything. I spend $400 a month for insurance and get nothing for it. Embrace Pet Insurance is a racket and a scam. They will tell you pre-existing conditions might be covered in a year, to get you to buy their insurance. Then a year later they tell you it’s not. They will decide your pet has a pre-existing condition, not tell you about it, and then you will have to find out when you submit your claim and it is denied. They also classified a skin condition as pre-existing, and every other type of skin issue then fell under that label, even when they were different, Alopecia versus a scratch. T... read more
